Lore & Effects.
It started in the valley, Nakti's home. A heavy winter and rife plague had left her home pack weary, sickly, and after moons of struggling, hopeless. As one of the few pack members left that were able to hunt, Nakti felt a heavy pain in her heart knowing she could not provide what the pack needed her to, the prey was dwindling and so was her strength. Returning home empty-handed yet again from another hunt, Nakti was met with disaster, tragedy, death. Claw marks ripped holes into weak bodies, leaking crimson into the guilty snow. Nakti wailed as cougar scent smashed her senses and the tang of blood soured or tongue. Mournful cries swept her breath away as she staggered through her family, the stench of death seeping into her lungs. Searching, she finally found her dear mother, a grimace forever scrawled on the angel's face. Nakti collapsed at the sight of her, rolling into her thick pelt and soaking in her scent. Snow began to waft down from the skies where Zakiya surely cried, landing softly onto her mother's freezing fur, Nakti licked them from her face, cleaning the blood from her eyes and mouth. As she did so she found evidence of the culprit skewered in her mother's teeth. Cougar hair soaked in blood hung there to remind her mother's killer of his wrongdoings. Nakti fur bristled as anger soaked her bones, her hackles rising as she glanced around at the 6 other pack members laying strewn across the clearing. She made out the 4 pairs of massive paw pads leaving bloody marks as they left the scene. As her anger simmered hot in her heart, Nakti's paws moved to cut a path for the mountain. The sun chased behind her, sinking down as the snow started to fall heavier and Nakti disappeared within it, her luminous eyes firmly in front of her and her tears frozen to her cheeks, she tracked.
