Baking and tired from walking the painted desert, your head pounds. A sweet bird call offers the first sign of life in quite a while. You follow in hopes of a shaded break from the midday heat, into a crevasse in the red stone hills.

Here between the red rocks the gap narrows for a few meters before opening up. The temperature drops here, offering some respite and clearing your head. The smell of water urges you on. The smell of damp Creosote, Sycamore, and the smokey smell of mesquite join the moisture and relax you. Finally, a drink.

As you move farther into the ravine, the sound of a creek joins the scents. A haunting and alluring song calls your attention, but the needs of your body push you forward. You can feel your mind becoming foggy, not like the fog of dehydration and heat. This song is muddying your brain, putting you into a calm dreamlike state. Still, you must continue, wanting to or not.

There is a break in the growth, a well worn path down to the wide creek. There, at the waters edge, you think you see a creature of the sea. You soon realize you are mistaken. The song stops, and you find yourself eye to maw with a massive wolf. You realize from the scent they are female. 

Others begin to show themselves soon enough, glittering eyes peering at you from the bushes and banks. They are all very large, even for wolves, clearly well fed and powerful with glistening coats. They have a magical aura both intoxicating and terrifying.

The one, who still stands calmly in your path speaks in a growling musical tone. Alluring even in normal speech, "Stranger, if your intentions are good we will share the oasis for a time."

The unspoken threat trailed at the end of their words like a psychic drawl.

The clan was founded by Nereid and Triton as a home for all that desire solitude and a place to rest their hearts. Since her arrival Eloquent was a cherished and respected voice in the clan. She has led the Oasis through many challenges and through adversity they have shifted their views, talked through concerns better, leading to better dispositions.
