Jagged stones pack

You dig your claws into the loose stones and haul yourself up onto the cliff side. Panting, you can feel your muscles tremble violently as you slowly ease onto your stomach to relax.
As you close your eyes, a strange scent draws near and the sound of shuffling paws grows. You leap to your paws despite your muscles screaming with pain, pinching at every movement. "Who's there?" You stick your tail into the air and gaze around, tasting the breeze. The scent again catches your nose. You spin around to face the unknown and spot several eyes peering at you from the dark.
