Pack Structure
Our Pack has a mainly flat structure, where wolves are equals and the leader respects their packmates. In Depth Explanation
The Alpha of the Chromium Pack wears purple Moon Strings. The Alpha's Mate wears a Lunar Orb Headband. The Alpha's Heir wears a purple Essence Pendant.
Any family members of the Alpha live directly in the Alpha's cave.
Beta is the rank of the Alpha's assistant, an either gender wolf who can be any working role. The Beta works with the other wolves, helping out in Pupsitting, Scouting, Hunting or Herbalism. Also, the Beta is closest to the Alpha: able to become Alpha if the Alpha has no Heir when they pass. Additionally, they are either able to become the Alpha's mate or have their pup pairbonded to the Alpha's pups. As with the Alpha title, a Beta with no Heir but a mate will have the main gain the title. The pups of a Beta, if not the Alpha Heir, are in line to inherit the Beta title once the current Beta passes.
The Beta of the Chromium Pack wears the blue Moon Strings, as a sign of their title. The Beta's Mate wears a Lunar Orb Headband. The Beta's Heir wears a blue Essence Pendant.
Any family members of the Beta live with the Beta in their cave.
Family Wolves are members of the connected family tree(s), who live together in a single cave. The family of wolves are related to each other by being pairbonded, parents/child or siblings. The adults of the family can be any role, to support the Worker Wolves and support the Pack as a whole.
When a pup reaches adulthood, they are not moved out their family cave: and instead remain with their parents.
If one family is tied to another, they are merged into the same cave.
Worker Wolves take on any role to support the Pack. They can hunt, scout, be the herbalist or care for pups. These wolves are single, not pairbonded, and don't have/keep pups of their own. The Breeding Male is set in this cave, instead of getting a family cave of his own.
The Breeding Male of the Chromium Pack will wear blue Lunar Orb Anklets, as a sign of his title.
Next to the Alpha's cave is a Nursery where all pups, adolescents and nursing/pregnant female wolves go if they are not part of a family. Here, they stay until either growing up if a pup - or until they have weaned their pups if a mother wolf.
Additionally, a family of wolves - including the father - can be here whilst they have or are expecting pups, but don't have a Family Cave. They will remain here until their pups have become adults.
On the edge of the Pack's territory is the Departure Terminal. It is a cave for wolves who will soon be leaving the Chomium Pack. These wolves will be or already are in trade deals, a raffle prize or may be chased to prevent overcrowding. We wish them well on their travels, and hope they can find a new home.
Finally, there is a Quarantine cave, kept hidden and far from the central territory. Only sick wolves are sent here, where they stay until cured. A wolf will only be sent here if they can't be diagnosed due to cost, or if their illness is contagious. This is a precaution, in case of contagious illnesses to reduce transmission.
Pack Rules
These Rules are self-imposed standards for the pack itself.- If a bred pair produce a pup with Brachycephaly, they CANNOT be bred again. We shall mourn the pup's passing, as they didn't get their chance at life.
This does NOT apply to Albinism and Melanism, as they are not fatal. The parents will be allowed to stay within the pack, and are not to be forcibly removed because of this. Also, if the parents are pairbonded, are still allowed to adopt pups from the Enclave. - Any pup born from the pack who is inbred shall be sold for the cheapest price or sent to the Enclave. For disinction, the pup will be marked as Malcadh in their footnote. They deserve life yes; but in another pack, where their unique gene code can become diverse.
Inbred can be classed as: having any family slot with the exact same wolf. Such also applies to pups with parents whom are related; as siblings, cousins and so on. This rule does NOT apply to any pup hailing another pack. This ruling also does not apply in the case of an Adopted pup who is inbred and has own pups. (If the family tree system is updated/expanded, then further definition will come into full effect.) - When or before a breeding male is selected, he must be checked for all possible Mutations. In his Stud Rules, the report of the check must be recorded.
This is mainly so that anyone looking to stud can be aware of the Mutation possibilities. - All wolves which are UNSECURED may be put up for sale. This is not a definite decision, merely an indication of which may be traded.
- The Breeding Male of the Pack does NOT automatically get a Family Cave. He will live with the Worker Wolves, if not at the Nursery or with his Family, and his pups may be sold or sent to the Enclave.
- A pup adopted from the Enclave is NOT to be sold. They are part of the Pack and the family.
How Raise & Sell Works
When a pup is marked as Raise & Sell in their footnote, that means they will be kept until adolescence (6 Months Old). This is to train the puppy and boost their stats. Once a Raise & Sell pup is an adolescent, they will be put up for sale and are available for purchase at the Trading Centre.
