Mossy Wood Pack
The mountainous regions of this territory contain a scarce food populace and a wide variety of den sites for expecting couples. Winter tends to display a harsh and unforgiving nature as many who are unequipped for the frigid season succumb to the weather. However, the Mossy Wood Pack-- named endearingly after their forest-dwelling ancestors, is able to thrive amidst a landscape that is not for the faint of hearts. The wolves themselves present larger coats and thick skin. They appear more bulky compared to other subspecies to aid with the frigid climate they've adapted to through evolutionary developments. The culture of the mountainous wolves have adopted a diverse naming system and often rejoice in song during rites of passage. They support interspecies alliances, often making sure they are good hosts to their friends of all species.
Although most packmates are relatively elusive, you may be able to stumble across the presence of those brave enough to approach outsiders. But tread with caution-- some tend to hold suspicions of strangers and may act hostile if met with aggressive gestures.
UPDATE: As the winds turn, so does the fate of the pack. The weather has entered a period of rest and thus, has allowed the sickly to recover. Bronwen is happy to report that Maeveen, the herbalist, has had a litter of pups, including one heir to take her place for her eventual passing. Although there was one casualty, all three other pups are quite healthy.
