The Lore.
Local folklore speaks of the Guardians as ancient spirits who once roamed the land as protectors of an ancient power hidden within the forest. It is said that the pack's strength grows with each full moon, drawing from the land's mystical energy. Stories are told of the pack's first members once being human beings, who thrived in greed, and relished in power, who were non-believers that were turned to large, meat-eating beasts and sent to the forest for their blasphemy against Gahör to serve the gods until the end of their days.
The Guardians are not just protectors but also stewards of their environment. They ensure that prey populations remain balanced, prevent other predators from overstepping their bounds, and even assist in the regrowth of vegetation through their careful management of the land.
Leadership and Structure:
The pack is led by the Alpha, a wise and seasoned wolf who embodies both strength and wisdom. The Alpha is supported by a council of the elders, who provide guidance and share their vast knowledge of the land and its secrets. Below them are the Betas, the pack's primary enforcers and strategists, followed by the Hunters and Sentinels who handle the daily tasks of foraging, patrolling, and safeguarding the pack, and then the denparents, who protect and care for the future generations of the pack.
Values and Beliefs:
The Guardians of Gahör hold a deep reverence for the balance of nature. They believe that their role is not just to protect their territory but to maintain harmony between the forest's inhabitants and the natural world. Rituals and ceremonies are integral to their way of life, celebrating the changing seasons, the moon's phases, and the spirits they believe watch over them.
Appearance and Traits:
The wolves of this pack are distinguished by their dark, monochrome tones, and some distinguished by their dark earthy tones—deep browns, russets, blacks, silvers and whites that help them blend seamlessly into the forest's shadowy underbrush.
