The Entrance

If you've ever been wandering out in the darkness of the forests by yourself and happen to stumble upon a clearing where the starlight illuminates the forest ground, a lake with beautiful white lilies floating on its surface and the trees around it, you should know that you have entered the territory of the Midnight Spirits. And if you look closely in the waters, you'll see your reflection as clearly as the skies above you. And if you hear peacefully enough, your will find your ears fill with the sounds of your ancestors whispering in the stars…

The Alpha

As you stare at your reflection, your nose tingles with the smell of another wolf; a smell of fresh moss and flowers and a sharp spicy tang to it. You look up and find yourself staring into the deep, peaceful eyes of a grey wolf with a white star upon her forehead, looking so much like the ones in the sky. The strange wolf tilts her head curiously at you, looking like a mother tenderly and longingly upon her child. "Come," she beckons. "Come with me." Left with no choice, you follow her across the clearing through a narrow path between the trees, the spicy flowery scent growing stronger with every passing step. Your curiosity wins over you, and you have to question where the strange scent is coming from. The wolf doesn't reply, but soon enough you find out for yourself.

The Clearing

The trees finally give away and you step into another large clearing with a large blue fire burning in the center. Beside it is a large pile of food. Around the fire are three caves, and across from you, you can see a large construction pile of branches and rocks. "We still need more materials," the strange wolf standing beside you follows your gaze and explains. She finally introduces herself. "I'm Moonmist, Leader of the Midnight Spirits. Have you ever heard of them?" You shake your head slowly, entranced by the fire, while the lead wolf pulls you away and offer you a dead fish. You accept it gratefully and look across at the entrance to the dens. Near the construction pile are a couple of wolves, one pitch black, and another with a honey-speckled, sorting out various herbs.
