Crowbones
Margon, Avira, and Burningnight. These are the names of the Great Founders of the Crowbones pack. Every pup, every traveler, every adopted wolf, learns those names and learns how they founded, and nearly broke, Crowbones. It is a lesson in both acceptance of your fate and cooperation with your pack members- no matter your differences.
Now, Crowbones is bigger than ever. The world is shifting, changing, and wolves from all over flee through the quiet valley. Some stay for only a short rest, others find they don't have the will to move on. Through it all the pack seems to thrive.
But darkness still stains them.
What was once an unknown presence called on by Margon to avenge him and his mate, is now a true god of disease and rage- Horreden, the Undying. Inhabiting what was once a great hunter for the pack, Horreden is now a twisted, terrifying creature that takes the sick, the weak, the elderly, before the Healers can revive them. He sends his minions to slip through the dens in the night, stealing pups from their mothers and elders from their mates. The pack has taken to having one pup from every litter taken by an elder that has reached 7 years the edge of their territory, in hopes that their sacrifice will prevent widespread death from once again striking down their strongest warriors and kindest pupsitters. So far, it seems to work, but unless something changes, there is fear that this 'truce' with the Undying God will not last...
