Echo Spires Pack
An undertaking born from the rotten pit of deceit, its Alpha set out to create a pack of his own simply to prove he was superior to his brother.
The twins were born as the only two pups in a littler that was greatly anticipated for many moons. The pack they were born into was regarded as royalty to many and was one of the largest to exist within the ice-locked mountains they called home. The two were paraded around the camp as treasures, and as they grew older their parents became less and less loving, forcing the pups to grow up faster then expected and shoving them towards various tutors and yanking them out the moment something didn't go as they planned.
Terindel was always the golden child. A smart, handsome wolf with bright blue eyes and a coat that shone like quicksilver. Whispers followed him wherever he passed. "What beautiful eyes, he is sure to be an Alpha. . . " "By the moons! What an amazing coat, he is sure to lead this clan to victory." "Look at how proud he stands, that confidence will raise our pack to glory."
"He will be the one to rule us all"
With the shadow of his oh-so-confident brother hanging over him, Tereath was content to stay out of the limelight, taking to swat at butterflies rather than participate in the sparring matches his brother so loved. It was only until the two came of age that the tight-knit bond they had developed began to crumble away. The young wolves were forced apart by the standards of their parents, whispering in Terindel's ear that his brother was below him. So worthless that he was a burden, dragging him down and preventing him from reaching greatness.
The resentment that Terindel harbored for his brother quickly blossomed into full-fledged hatred. The night before their coming-of-age ceremony, the brother was approached by his father, placing a paw on his shoulder and congratulating him on his success. The paw slowly curled around his scruff, tightening as a sick smile peeled his lips back into a snarl. "You need to remove Tereath from this pack. He is bringing you down, bringing down all of us. Rid us of him, wont you?" The large wolf then sauntered away, not quite satisfied with the seeds he had planted into the mind of his son, throwing one more comment over his shoulder. "Accidents happen all the time. Terrible accidents."
Terindel watched his father vanish down the bend of their large den, nearly quaking with a mixture of confusion and anticipation. His brother was ruining his life, his chances of becoming king of their land was being drained by this scroll-loving pacifist. What a leech he was, what a horrible, power-sucking brother. He didn't deserve to live anywhere near the power that Terindel possessed, He didn't recognize the leadership he has taken, therefore he does not deserve to live at all.
Right?
That's what his mother said. That's what his father said.
