Scourgebane
There is a sickness in the swamp, fetid and infectious. It grows stronger each night, when the wisps flicker to life.
Some say that will-o'-the-wisps are sinister, leading travelers astray deeper into a labyrinthine wood, never to be seen again. Those of the Scourgebane have learned those rumors are false - the wisps are begging for help from the living. There is something much more sinister deep in the muck, hidden underneath mangrove roots and far above the cypress boughs. The orbs lead those they find deeper in, trying to show them the true monsters of the swamp, in hopes that they can purify the foulness.
The wolves banded together as Scourgebane have taken it upon themselves to aid the luminous spirits. Every wolf's reason varies, from selflessness to spirituality, but they all have dedicated their life to the cause.
Every time they succeed in removing the scourge, it festers somewhere else. It seems an endless battle. It may very well in fact be.
