Howls ringing with mourning echo across the land. The passing of Nasraj left the pack confused and leaderless. Each wanted to stake their claim, but also realized they would leave their own children leaderless because of their ages. Dappled Wing suggested that they try to give birth at the same time so their kids would roughly be the same age and would always be there for each other. At first, the idea sounded like what they already were trying to avoid, but eventually they all agreed. They decided to name the time during Nasraj's reign The First Age and that for now it was The Age of the Unknown. For they did not know fully what to do during this time.
After the pups discussed were born, lots were made for each pup and drawn. The first one chosen was the lead and the rest after were pack members. With a new leader secured, the older wolves felt at peace, though most were jealous their child was not a chosen leader, and they decided they had entered The Age Anew.
