Abyss

Siren stared down at the pup between her paws harshly, before turning her gaze to her mate, who stumbled to his paws in a rush. Pups fell from her mate's body in his rush to stand, and they turned their gaze to the stunning pup between Siren's paws.
"W-what is this," Mendacious stutters, taking a half step forward towards the cowering pup.
The pretty blue alpha snorted, "Since tonight is my last night before turning the pack over to you, I went out and found this clan's future stud. Naga, the G1 Serpentine I befriend, agreed to be part of the trade for this cub."
Mendacious stood stunned, and slowly the rest of the clan edged over to gawk at the pretty blue pup between their Alpha's paws.
"This clan is your responsibility now, and as is this pup, you will train him yourself, and you'll raise him yourself."
With that Siren scruffed the pup and dragged him forward towards her mate, who scrambled to the fallen pup. Checking the shaking pup over, he started to snarl, only to lower his ears, and sigh. For a moment he watched his leader walk away, he silently bid his beautiful, temperamental mate a farewell.
Mendacious shook his head, and smiled down at the pup, "Hi puppy, I'm Mendacious, this clan's next Alpha, and stud. Let's get you settled in." Giving the shivering pup a few licks, Mendacious carefully scruffed the pup placing him in the middle of the rest of the pups, Riptide, Oceanic, Kyser, Redemption, Skyfall, and Monsoon.
He looked over the nameless pup, before calling to Shorty, a beautiful Azure-eyed Melanistic female, "Will you watch over this pup?"
Shorty nodded, and strode over to the new pup, she carefully stepped over, and around the other pups to get to her new charge. Bending so she was nose to nose with the little one, she rubbed her scent along his pelt, a quick groom later, Shorty returned to her own den, slowly the rest of the clan returned to their usual duties.
Mendacious laid nearby the pup's his eye's occasionally drifting over to his mate's den.

The young pup didn't really understand what happened, this morning he was with his mother and sister, then the next his previous alpha was negotiating with two other wolves over him! The pretty Selene female with red eyes was almost outbid before she sighed, spoke a few words to his previous alpha, and left. The other alpha that was there for him reluctantly left, and the Elder Selene female came back soon after with a pretty Serpentine female, they said their goodbye's and the red-eyed female turned her piercing eyes onto him. He yipped as he scruffed roughly, and taking out of his territory.
The journey to his new home was rough, and soon he was shivering as the air turned colder and colder. He tried to stay quiet, this female didn't seem to like him too much right now. The sweet pup didn't want to cause the aging wolf any trouble. Quietly he sniffled and waited to see what his new home would be like.

Abyss was to be this clan's future Leader, as well as stud, like Mendacious. Mendacious had tried to find another to lead but decided on Aybss to take the lead. A year later Aybss had stumbled upon a beautiful G2 winged female while scouting for the clan, and Mendacious approved her to be brought into their clan. Void and Abyss soon became pairbound, she would help Abyss lead the clan.

Void and Abyss were curled around their first litter when Monsoon came bounding towards them, a deep red, and black pup held carefully between her fangs. Monsoon and Abyss had grown up together, the sassy female had pestered the heck out Abyss about Void, and went out of her way to embarrass the younger male. Void, and Monsoon became best friends much to Abyss' dismay. Both females were terror's alone, but together they were demonic in their mischievous ways.
Monsoon put her fussing pup down in front of the two mates, and proudly stated, "This is ScorchedEarth, isn't she a beauty?"
Void quickly pulled the gorgeous Realgar Panda to her, and began to groom it furiously, "What a precious baby Mon oh you're going to be a little trouble maker like your mother arent you?"
Monsoon, just beamed.
Abyss chuckled nervously, he already knew this nightmare pup was going to be a handful, and just like his mother, who still to this day liked to pull out chunks of his tail, and butt fluff when he wasn't expecting it.

Curled around his mate, Abyss's ears twitched, looking up he saw his leader, Mendacious. Mendacious smiled softly down at him and motioned Abyss to follow. Slowly pulling himself away from his mate and pups, the younger male followed. Abyss found Mendacious sitting on an overlook to their camp.
Sitting next to his kind leader, Mendacious leaned against the younger male and groomed him around his ears.
"What's going on Mendacious," Abyss asked softly, returning the favor and grooming the roughed-up fur on his leader's neck, and shoulders.
"I tried to find a leader before tonight, so you wouldn't have the duty as Stud and Lead, but I was unable to," He started.
"I want you to lead the clan, my son Hertz will help guide you as well."
Abyss stared at Mendacious for a moment, he was speechless, and a little overwhelmed. Looking down at the rest of the clan he watched them for a moment before smiling and turning back to his Leader.
"I can do that, I have all of them to help me as well."
Mendacious beamed at the younger male, "That's just what I needed to hear, take care, Abyss," Rubbing his head along the top of Abyss' Mendacious turned and left.
Hertz met with his father before he could get far, he shared a look with Abyss, before turning to follow his father into the night.
"I'm going to go join your mother now Hertz," Mendacious told his son as they left.
Abyss stared after them for a moment before returning to camp, he nuzzled a few of his clanmates as he passed before returning to his mate Void. Curling up next to her, Abyss sighed, he probably wasn't going to get much sleep tonight.

Pups crawled over his face and body, his tail was wagging softly at the pretty pups he had sired when he heard paw steps approach him.
"I can see why my mother picked you, dad's pups were never quite as flashy as yours are. You also have a sharp eye for pretty things don't you, "Hertz chuckled, looking out at all the pretty new wolves Abyss had taken in.
"Is everything ok Hertz," Abyss asked, Hertz seemed a little off.
"Fine actually, I was just wanting to ask if you could spare room for one of my siblings," he asked shyly.
Setting the pups down Abyss stood up, "Of course Hertz, I won't deny you a sibling, you or any of the clan if they asked."
Hertz smiled, "I'm gonna go get him, thank you Abyss."
Abyss walked Hertz walk off, before calling down, "Bring the pup to me, if he's not named the two of us can think of one together."
Hertz nodded before disappearing.

When Hertz showed up an hour later with two pups, Abyss just had to laugh.

After Abyss encountered the strange female, Maeve, in the forest, he got paranoid. Other packs had reported their clan mates going missing as well, and even other animals seemed to end up in odd places, with no clue how they got there.
Abyss growled as he paced, his clanmates watched worried, even the pups could tell something was very off and stayed quiet. Finally, Abyss spun on his heel making sure every since clan member was here, and insight.
"Listen up, If you leave the camp, you are to stay within sight of another clanmate." He paused meeting the eyes of every one of his clanmates.
"No one is to travel alone," Once he got agreement from every clanmate he nodded and turned to his mate.
"Void, you will be joining me on patrol."

Abyss runs across a young wolf on patrol "I want to go home but they're still there." He lowers his voice to a whisper and you can see genuine fear in his eyes. You check the way ahead of you but if there was anything strange here before, it's gone now.
The young wolf gathers his courage after hearing the good news. You follow him for a while to make sure he's safe.
Leaving the pup Abyss became even more unsure, and wary, that didn't stop him from following the floating lights though.
When he next becomes aware, he finds himself on a completely different path. Luckily, Abyss recognizes the area. He's exhausted and drags himself back to his camp on shaking limbs.
His clanmates are all there to greet him and stick around to fuss over him.
He sleeps with the clan guarding him.

Dealing with this new pack, and disappearing, wolves, and new animals were taking their toll on Abyss, he could feel even his seemingly endless patience wearing into frustration. Given this new ticket to the pack, he was completely unprepared for the elder wolf to grab him.

Quany is completely silent as he regards the object, taking what seems an incredibly long time to decide what he wants to say before he lunges forward. He grabs you firmly by the scruff of your neck, forcing you down to the ground before you have a chance to even react.

You growl immediately and start to thrash, but your attempts are futile. You are lowered until your nose is pushed up against the object, causing it to tingle suddenly, a warm--no, hot--flood rushing through your bones, you feel like you're falling, everything is fading... It's getting dark... What's happening?! |
You blink your eyes a few times, waiting for everything to settle. It seems the whole scene has changed. You're not with Sirona and Quany anymore. You're somewhere else entirely. Everything around you is strange to you... and yet... yet, it feels like home.
You blink again and realize you are staring back into a pair of gentle, kind eyes. It's your mate. He leans in, nuzzling you, and you feel yourself melt with happiness.
Wait.. He?
What he is seeing it's his own memory inwardly he panics.
When the sound stops, you open them again, surprised (and relieved) to see Quany and Sirona staring down at you with concern.
"What did you see?" Quany asks.
"You bastard," Abyss snarls, both wolves leap back, and Abyss takes a minute to calm himself before he tells them.
At the elders dismissively, Abyss snarls turns, and stalks off, hackles raised skyward.
Returning home, all his clanmates are on edge, they have never seen Abyss so.. so, frustrated. Hertz, Void, Monsoon, and Benny are by his side, brushing against him, and soothing him. He tells them what he's experienced. They grow tense and agree once things are said and done, that old wolf is going to answer to them for the disrespect to their carefree, and peaceful leader.
"By the god's that was weird..." Abyss blurts out suddenly, looking down to check, and make sure he is.. still.. a him.
Hertz tucks his tail and looks at the females, who give each other a look, and giggle.

Once things calm down, things become humorous once more. Hertz glances around the camp, eyes landing on SnowFox, Silence, SwampCat the three newest additions, then he looks to his leader how is hunched over his SC. He's pulling sc and other things to push into raffles, and he looks just manic.
Hertz hesitates, and then specks, "You have a problem... I can't say shit cause you are better financially than my sire, and dam ever were."
Abyss' head shoots up, and he looks at Hertz, then looks over to some of the giggling females that are close by, then back at Hertz.
"Uh.. yeah...." He paused then looks back at Hertz, "Hey have you met SwampCat yet?"
Hertz chuckles, and shakes his head, "No but I mine as well go introduce myself, and give her a few warnings in advance."
"I am not that bad!" Abyss shouts at Hertz' turned back.
"Bull....Shit," Several of his clanmates howl.
"Traitors the lot of you," Abyss wails, causing another round of laughter throughout the clan.

Abyss was passing through the trade market where other packs came to sell, and trade goods and wolves when he saw him. A Beautiful NBW Black Panda. Abyss stared for quite a long time and ended up bartering with the leader of the wolf's pack for three days before the young beauty was coming home with him.
On the walk home Abyss asked the name of the male he was bringing home, the answer, "SkyDancer," Couldn't have been more perfect to Abyss.
Once they hit camp, Hertz' head popped up, and he barked out a sharp laugh, as SkyDancer's eyes wandered over the pretty clan wolves. He chuckled and turned to his leader, "I guess this isn't the first time you've done this?"
"It's a habit at this point," Abyss chuckled, "Come, let me introduce you to the clan!"

"Abyss!" Hertz shouted over the chatter of the clan talk.
He made his way through the crowded camp, and a pretty little panda pyrope pup at his heel.
"Who is this," He asked his ruffled alpha.
"Uh.." Abyss replied stupidly.
"Did you just go out and get your son a girlfriend?"
"...No..."
"You lying sack of..." Hertz caught himself with a disbelieving laugh.
"What, they liked each other!"
"Plague is 4 months old, and just this morning this pup was male!"
"I don't see the problem."
"You have a serious problem, our den looks like gay pride!"
"So!?"
Hertz let out a groan and turned away from the crazy lead his father left him in charge of.
"Come on puppy let's go get you settled."
"Thanks, Hertz," Abyss called after him happily.
"Shut up!"

"Abyss," ParasdiseSeeker called.
Abyss stood from where he laid with Void, his adult pups, and Hertz, "Yes Para?"
"I just wanted to show you a pup from my newest litter, If it's not too much trouble, could she stay."
Hertz perked up, and stood as well, "Let go see," He laughed excitedly.
The three males wandered over to the nursing Dam, GoldRush, they saw three pups, two golden, and one bright red and black. Abyss' ears immediately perked up, as did Hertz's, who leaned down to sniff nursing newborns, "Well, hello you little surprise."
"Of course, she can stay Para, if you want, any of your pups can stay within the clan, I will never deny you this."
"Thank you," Both Para, and Gold echoed.
The little red pup, let go of her mother, and squeaked at her pushy sibling, before grabbing hold of said sibling's ear and shaking her head back and forth.
The adult all barked out a laugh, "Oh this little lass will fit right in," hertz chuckled, as GoldRush pushed the fighting newborns apart.
"Has she got a name," Hertz asked.
"Jinx," GoldRush anwsered, "Her name is Jinx."
"What a perfect name," Hertz smiled, "Hello little Jinx," He whispered softly, licking her over the ears."

"Hertz? Monsoon?" Abyss called frantically spinning in circles eyeing his weary, and uneasy clanmates.
Void ran up to his heel ears down, as her mate looked frantically for his two best friends, "SnowFox," He snarled, "Where ar-" He paused at the entrance to the med den. There were his two best friends, lying unnaturally still.
For a few long moments his breath caught in his throat, and his vision tunneled to their lifeless bodies. SnowFox and void were saying something, but when SnowFox approached him, he snarled and lunged at her to the shock of his clanmates. Grabbing her by the scruff he shook her violently, "You useless med wolf!" He tossed her to the ground, ignoring her squeals of shock and pain.
Rolling belly up she tried to reason with her leader but he ignored her, standing on her chest as he snarled in her face, "If you can't keep members of this clan alive what good of a med wolf are you," He howled in outrage.
"Dad stop!" His eldest son Plague ran through the crowd, grabbing his sire by the scruff and pulling him off of their herbalist.
Snarling from behind them had Plague spinning on his paws, grabbing Silence by the snout, and sent him to the ground, "You try that shit again, and I'll rip your jaw clean off, you hear!"
Abyss stood panting and shaking pressed against his mate Void.
ScorchedEarth slowly approached her mother's body whining, carefully she laid against her mother's side, resting her muzzle on her mother's scruff.
Sweeney Todd, Tanuki, and Plague pressed against their father's side to comfort him, as SnowFox, and Silence backed away to let their leader grieve.
That night they buried their beloved clanmates. That night, Abyss' low snarling and mumble worried the whole clan.

When LittleShell died four nights later, Abyss' peaceful cheerful demeanor darkened further.

Abyss pulled Para aside, "It's between you and SkyDancer who will be the next lead. If you let that past clan of yours bully you though, I'll become back from the dead, and tear your ugly mug to damn shreds, do you understand me?"
"I'd never," Para promised, "And neither will SkyDancer."
Abyss snarled, loudly drawing the attention from every clan member insight, "You'd better not." He snapped at the air close to Para's ear's are he walked past, bristling.
He left Para thinking, 'That male has more control than I've ever seen...'

Abyss sighed, he sat high atop the overlook of his camp watching his clanmates mingle. They were all nervous. Tonight was the night Abyss turned this clan over to ParadiseSeeker. He was soon joined by his son and daughters, Plague, Tanuki, Sweeny Todd, and Shimmer.
"We'll keep an eye on this, you know we will," Plague reassured his father, "Para, and SkyDancer won't allow anything to happen either. Our pack is stronger since you've been the leader. We won't fail you, father"
"I know you won't," Abyss smile, "Everything's gonna be fine."
The five laid together, watching the clan go about their day, all pressed close to each other. Throughout the day, each and every clan member came to say their goodbyes as well.
