Biography
Abyss pulled Para aside, "It's between you and SkyDancer who will be the next lead. If you let that past clan of yours bully you though, I'll become back from the dead, and tear your ugly mug to damn shreds, do you understand me?"
"I'd never," Para promised, "And neither will SkyDancer."
Abyss snarled, loudly drawing the attention of every clan member insight, "You'd better not." He snapped at the air close to Para's ear's are he walked past, bristling.
He left Para thinking, 'That male has more control than I've ever seen...'
Abyss sighed, he sat high atop the overlook of his camp watching his clanmates mingle. They were all nervous. Tonight was the night Abyss turned this clan over to ParadiseSeeker. He was soon joined by his son and daughters, Plague, Tanuki, Sweeny Todd, and Shimmer.
"We'll keep an eye on this, you know we will," Plague reassured his father, "Para, and SkyDancer won't allow anything to happen either. Our pack is stronger since you've been the leader. We won't fail you, father"
"I know you won't," Abyss smiled, "Everything's gonna be fine."
The five laid together, watching the clan go about their day, all pressed close to each other. Throughout the day, each and every clan member came to say their goodbyes as well.
Once Abyss passed Para stepped up the best he could, it over 50 wolves in the clan managing it was not easy, especially with the loss of all the territories Abyss had previously found. Day by day, their feedstocks diminished, and Para pushed his Explorers to their limit. They understood, they had no choice. The clan would slowly starve if they didn't get to better territories that were bountiful. The clan made it easy, his twin team of hunters did their best, his pup sitters guarded the pups with minimal incidents, and his scouts pushed themselves past what he asked of them. The clan came together to help each other, and Para couldn't be more proud to lead this clan.
When Para met Morzan, he almost thought they were brothers, being 7 years old he almost couldn't even remember his sire, and dam at this point so the possibility was there. He knew right away that Morzan was slightly... Off. Morzan spent a lot of time out of camp, and when SkyDancer came to Paradise, with a simple sentence "I found Morzan's dirty little secret." Well, Para had to find out his intentions.
The forest Morzan spent most of his time in was desolate. Quiet... Nothing good ever came when even the birds were silent. Even proceeding with caution ParadiseSeeker was still caught off guard when a bright light swung out in front of him, he rocked back a step before he took in the sight of Morzan, a human lantern gripped in his jaws, a curious expression in his eyes.
"Yes, Leader? Can I help you," Morzan rasped around the lantern in his jaws?
In the fading light of dusk, Para could make out splatters of blood clinging to Morzan's pelt.
"I came to find out your intentions to the clan," ParadiseSeeker answered honestly.
"Ah," Morzan breathed, "Yes then come with me! Let me show you my lovely home," He chuckled, turning his back to his leader, and making his way through the quiet forest.
The closer they got to Morzan's 'home,' the more bones Para noticed were scattered around, coyote, wolverine, bear, wolf... Human...
They hit a clearing, and the massive male in front of him bounced forward towards the cabin in the middle. Morzan sat on the porch, tail wagging slowly behind him. It didn't escape his notice that there were two more human skeletons on the porch.
Morzan set the lantern down and chuckled softly as his leader joined him.
"I mean no harm to the clan, this I say with the utmost honesty," Morzan said proudly.
His tone slowly changed though, "But others might not be so nice. I'll protect the clan, you gave me a home, a place to belong, I will never jeopardize this, I will never intentionally put the clan in harm's way. But I do intend to protect what you have given me."
Whispers Bio: As the last born son of the leader pair ParadiseSeeker and SkyDancer, Whisper was expected to take over for his father after he passed. To take on and lead a pack of 50 plus wolves at only one year old was a monumental task. One that made the poor pup nervous. Luckily his father left him with the pup pack to help. DarkDays, MoonDance, Lawless, SniperSight their new herbalist, and a few others would help. Not to mention the older wolves that would help them lead. The task was his, but he wasn't alone and he wasn't expected to get everything right off the bat. He would be coached by all of the oldest members of the pack and he would learn. He had already learned a lot from following his father to and from duties. Or when he followed his mother out to scout.
For tonight he curled up between his parents and put his worries to ease. He wouldn't be alone in this. The clan would not let him fall.
----
The day before his father passed Whisper walked up to his father, and Morzan who sat in the middle of camp discussing clan duties.
"Father, can I speak with you?"
"Of course Whisper what's ailing you, my son?"
"Father I.. I don't think I'm fit to lead, but I think I know who is, can I make a suggestion," Whisper asked quietly, and ashamed.
Morzan looked to ParadiseSeekers troubled face, "Let the boy make a suggestion, a leader should want to lead and be confident in his position."
Whisper looked to Morzan, and smiled his thank but Morzan's eyes were no longer on him, and a slightly suspicious evil little smirk had taken over his face.
"Wh-" He saw his father's eyes widen as well, and as he turned, he caught a flash of his younger sister's green and black pelt before she ducked under him, grabbed his leg, and yanked him to the ground.
Morzan's rasping chuckles were loud in his ringing ears as Whisper looked up at his little half-sister in shock, he missed what Morzan said to his father, something about the Throne, but he was too worried about his sister's sharp fangs being that close to his throat!
"Adatara wait!" Thankfully she paused and stared down at him with narrowed eyes.
Chuckling he leaned up to lick under her chin, "I gonna talk to you about you being the next leader sister, I'm not even ready to lead, and I don't think I'll ever be ready."
They both heard their father sigh in relief and wail about them not fighting when he was gone. Both siblings chuckled at their father's misery. Adatara helped Whisper to his paws, and he winced keeping the one she bit off the ground, "Man whoever crosses your warpath is really in for it."
Whisper's ears perked as his immortal mother nuzzled against their father, and smiled," "I'll keep them from killing each other," she promised.
"I know you will." Their father sighed in contentment.
The rest of the day was peaceful, all of their clanmates gathered around them, and no one left their fathers side that day.
