Ebony was born here, in this enchanted forest, and she has known no other life. Like the forest, her eyes hold every color in the world, but they say there was no color left for her fur. She has never felt the frost of winter's bite, nor the harsh pangs of hunger that claw at one's belly. She does not know which pack she hails from, and her memories of her puppyhood are gone. Some say she was placed here by Zulae to populate the forest with wolves and so keep balance in the world, but this is just a theory. For the first few years of adulthood, she wandered, her life happy but entirely devoid of purpose. She would howl, but she did not know to who, and none would ever answer. Until one day…
It was a beautiful howl, if not lonely and searching. She could tell he was a male, and something stirred in Ebony. She followed the sound until she saw him, a black wolf with shades of moonlight in his pelt and framed by turquoise markings that ran down his legs and belly. His eyes were a startling shade of blue, and when they laid eyes on one another, it was destiny. Beneath the full moon they spent the night together, and thus the dreams of the Seekers of the Luminara tribe were born…
