As the River Follows the Sea

O' lonely wolf,
Why do you cry to the stars?
When they are silent to your howls?
And indifferent to your scars
The wind swallowed your song

O' hungry wolf,
Why do you put your nose to the ground?
For endless days, chasing bison
When sweet berries abound?
Your body broke on those horns

O' savage wolf,
Why do you sink your teeth
Into the throat of your brother?
Do you feel nothing at him writhing beneath?
Your kind is swiftly fading away

O' clever human,
The wolf said to me,
It is in my nature,
As the river follows the sea
And I could no sooner change the course

Not even you could turn that ship around,
Back to when the earth was new,
And change the laws to which we are bound,
Maybe you do not think they apply to your kind,
but all of nature shares one mind

Hello, my name is Natalie! I love to write poetry and have published one novel (a werewolf/vampire fantasy named Beyond the Veil under the pen name Jessica Majzner). In addition to writing, I'm working on my drawing skills on a tablet and I love hanging out with my 3 dogs. I have an American Eskimo dog named Shyla, a what I think is an Italian Greyhound/Dachshund mix named Hazel and a little street dog from Puerto Rico named Lexi! I love all animals and wish horses weren't so expensive!

Working on pack/wolf lore and breeding the most interesting wolves after my restart with all NBWs.
