Biography
The below section was the bio for the page while Faolan was lead. It reflects his leadership style and shows how he viewed his pack.
~~~~~
Welcome to the territory of the Northern Dawn Pack. My name is Paw. I frequently sell food and pups at the Trading Centre, so please search me up by owner number and browse my wares.
I'm based in Canada in AST. I'm online at least once a day, usually several times unless if I'm particularly busy. That being said, messages and stud requests will be looked at either same- or next-day.
I have too many wolves and not enough practical roles to assign them, so I've used some creative liberty to make my own. The list below is for my own reference, and is not listed in any sort of dominance unless otherwise specified.
I raise and sell some of my pups after I've stat trained them. if you're interested in any of my pups with "RAS" in their name, let me know! I place them for public sale once they become adults, but I can reserve one for you if you're interested.
Pack Leader
Does pack leader things. Explores, is responsible for feeding and amusing pack members. Oversees pair bonding marriages. The most dominant wolf in the pack.
Hunters
Divided into hunting parties depending on skill level upon creation and personality type. Responsible for honing either their Stalking, Chasing, or Finishing skills and bringing home food for their pack mates.
^ Backup Hunters
These hunters step into different hunting parties when a main hunter is ill or nested and therefore cannot hunt. They also hone an individual skill, be that in Stalking, Chasing, or Finishing. Backup Hunters are less dominant than Hunters, and are expected to listen to the main members of the hunting party they are assigned to assist.
Scouts
Discover new lands and defend the territory lines from other packs. They also work together with the Herbalist to identify different plants, and help the Herbalist locate new types of herbs.
Herbalist
Forages for herbs, learns new medicines, and treats sick pack members. Works together with the Scouts to identify and locate herbs.
Pupsitters
Assist mothers in protecting and raising their young pups.
Mentors
Mentors shift from responsibility to responsibility throughout life, following their heart and becoming savants in various pack roles. Mentors are chosen first to lead pup training lessons.
Priest
The Priest interprets religion for the pack. They read texts from the Great Wolf, lead group prayers, and support pack members during extreme times: illness, grief, birth, etc. In their youth, the future Priest will study herbalism and pupsitting.
Breeding Male
The Breeding Male is listed for public stud, and is typically chosen for his genetics and appearance. To preserve his energy, he often will not have a secondary role in the pack. If he does, he will most likely be a Backup Hunter.
Merchants
Sometimes, the Pack Leader will determine certain hoard items as excess. If that is the case, the Merchants will take the excess items to the Trading Centre and list them for sale. Merchants are in charge of posting trades, advertising them, and removing them if contents are about to rot or are not selling. In their youth, a future Merchant would hone their smarts and wisdom.
Doulas
Doulas directly assist in pup deliveries. They are responsible for gathering materials and building nests for mothers, as well as ensuring that mothers are securely nested before they go into labor. They will also assist new mothers by teaching them how to take care of their pups. Doulas tend to be older females who have given birth at least once, but the role is open to all wolves. In their youth, a future Doula would closely study pupsitting.
