Self-Imposed Challenge: Breeding Pairs.

Real-life wolf packs are made up of the two breeding leaders and their pups. I'm going to simulate that reality as much as I possibly can (with my own roleplaying twists of course) by having my pack leader breed to the breeding male. The rest of the pack will be made up of their offspring.

Rules:

  1. No inbreeding!
  2. Once the breeding male is dead, the leader must search and find a new mate, much like real wolves. The new mate must be clean.
  3. The leader can stud to other males until she finds a new mate. The pups can either stay or go. This rule only applies if the current breeding male is related to her. Once he dies or retires, the leader must appoint a new unrelated male and breed only to him from that point on.
  4. The breeding male is still allowed to stud outsiders, but he cannot breed with anyone inside his pack that is not the leader.
  5. All wolves living in the pack must be related to the leader. Pups will be kept (or sold if there is not enough room). Males will work as hunters while females will work as pupsitters, scouts, or herbalists.
  6. If you’re just starting out you can create your pack out of outsider wolves but they must be NBWs. The only “bought” wolf should be the breeding male. Once you have enough puppies to make a functioning pack, all outsiders must be chased or sold.
  7. Daughters are allowed to stud outsiders and the pups can stay within the pack (if there is enough room).
  8. This is a matriarchy! Heirs must be female and must be related to the original leader.*
  9. No crazy names. Names will be recorded in the heritage tree so crazy names like BigBootyBeech are not allowed. Daughters can only breed to males with normal names.*

Rules will be tweaked as the game develops.
