Rosie #4903

Most of what people call aggression in dogs is really just an inappropriate response to fear and uncertainty. The way to address the problem is taking away the fear of the unknown, by making it known.

SHE WORKS WITH DOGS

"There are no bad dogs or bad humans, just inappropriate behavior." ― Shannon Riley-Coyner

Hi there! My name is Erose, or perhaps better known as Rosie. I am a 21 year old dog training professional working toward my certification to better help other humans understand how to communicate with their canine and feline companions in the best way.

I have adored working with animals—particularly companion animals, with a deep fascination for wild animals in accompaniment, for the near entirety of my life thus far. I was fortunate enough to have fostered a situation where I would have approximately 7 animals in my care at one point, including a rabbit, who would live to be 12-years-old. I have had hermit crabs, guinea pigs, birds, fish, and other small "exotics" that served to ignite my passion for improving the livelihoods of those that cannot directly speak for themselves. This has most prominently come to light in my work with canine and feline companion animals.

I have experience working as a dog daycare and boarding facility attendant, where I have also worked as a support staff member/receptionist as a full-time position. I have amassed hours of experience through 2.5 years that have allowed me to branch off into building myself a venture where I can uphold my own care standards and practices, rather than those of a corporate facility... In this same vein, I am allowed to work toward the 300 hours required to obtain CCPDT/IAABC certification as a dog training professional and behavioural consultant.

I have three beloved dogs of my own, two of which are my workshop dogs—an eight year old Labrador Retriever, and a three year old Newfoundland dog—their names are Luxie and Athena, and I frequently talk about them. I also have a twelve year old Beagle named Scarlet, she is a rescue with significant health issues, but, she is the sweetest little lady all the same.

Alongside my dogs, I have three cats—two of which are my partner's beloved kitties. We have a ragdoll mix, and senior two domestic shorthair mixes.

ANIMAL HEALTH & BEHAVIOR MAJOR

I am currently attending college through their virtual/distance education program as a means of acquiring my bachelor's degree in Animal Health & Behavior; wherein with this degree path I have an array of careers I can choose from, including wildlife rehabilitation and companion animal care. I have designed several hypothetical sanctuary containment centers for wild animals that would not be able to re-enter their wild habitat, with a likeness as close to their natural environment as humanely possible to ensure safety to handlers and animals in captivity.

Please always keep an eye out for your local wildlife, pick up trash and dispose of it properly. Even the smallest of actions goes an incredibly long way to sustaining the animals that have lost their homes to deforestation and human encroachment onto their territories.

  • If you have any questions or curiosities on wildlife I am always happy to answer!

  • Please take care of your mental and physical health.

  • Please drink water.

  • Please enjoy the outside.
