Nightmares It was freezing cold, the only light in the seemingly starless night being the sliver of moon hanging low in the sky. A small, dark pup hung from her mother's mouth. The young pup had come from a powerful sire. However, her mother wanted to keep her only daughter safe. The only way the she-wolf knew to protect her daughter was to abandon her. And pray that another pack would take her in. The dark she-wolf set her pup down and looked around before raising her head high and howling loudly. The mournful sound woke the pup up, and though she couldn't see the best, having only just opened her eyes the day before, she looked up at her mother. The she-wolf looked down at her precious daughter once more before padding away. It broke the she-wolf's heart to abandon her daughter like this, but she had no other choice.
Prism woke up suddenly, her hackles standing on end as she looked around. She was back home, with her pack. The she-wolf sighed and stood up, stretching out her tense body. She'd had the same dream for the past moon, and one thing that bothered her every time was why her mother had left her. And the fact that she could no longer remember her mother's face. Then again, it had been over a year since she was abandoned and Arcadia had found her. Prism sat back down and closed her eyes, trying hard to remember any details about her mother. There had to have been a reason she was abandoned, and she wanted to find out. If her mother was in any danger, she wanted to help however she could. Unfortunately, the only thing she could remember was that sad song and the dark and white pelt.
