Kuyay was chased from the pack he was raised in upon coming of age. He wandered through the thick forest and rummaged through old burrows and scraps until he finally taught himself how to hunt. Now he's an adult and has decided to become a traveler and discover new packs until he can find one to join.

When Kuyay arrived at the pack territory of the Shadow Moon Canines, the pack members welcomed him with open paws, immediately agreeing to bring him back to their pack and give him shelter.
"Our queen has a certain... Fondness for wolves with rare or unusual fur colors," Heather explained.
"More like obsession," Magpie scoffed. She rolled her eyes. Magpie had seen Luna giving Heather jewelry but not her so she had attempted to steal from the queen, which resulted in her many scars.
When Kuyay was presented to the queen, Luna, she was simply delighted at seeing a wolf with such a unique fur color.
"My, my, my," She inspected Kuyay carefully. "Pink fur! How unusual and amazing," She smiled warmly at the Traveling Wolf.
"You're welcome to stay as long as you'd like," She told him, gesturing with a paw at her pack's caves.

Lore: Kuyay wasn't lost, per se--he just didn't know how to leave the wintry expanse he found himself in. The glacier, a biome as hostile as it was enchanting. He eventually lost strength, unable to find prey or shelter.
He was an optimistic wolf, and wasn't going to admit to himself that he thought he wouldn't make it. He was certain this cold weather would be the last thing he'd experience, when a grey wolf appeared before him. She was older, not quite yet an elder but comfortably in her later years.
"Come with me," her voice interrupted his thoughts. "Let me take you to my pack."
Kuyay lifted his head, squinting at her. "I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself," he retorted, stubbornly lifting his head. He looked regal, his bright coat contrasting the stark environment around him. Or he did, until a shiver broke his concentration, as the wind howled around them.
The older wolf chuckled. "There's no shame in coming with me. My pack is open to travelers."
As she helped Kuyay up and brought him to her pack, she began to explain who she was. Casper, the leader of the Pack of Silhouettes. One of the few wolf packs that inhabited the glacier. She explained that her pack had moved to the glacier to see the object of their spirituality, the moon, better. He understood, but he still didn't like the cold.
Casper and her pack graciously allowed Kuyay to stay until he decided he was strong enough to leave the glacier. One of the scouts, Guardian, led Kuyay away from the pack's territory, to warmer and safer lands.
