Spider Bite

Deep in the Winter of the Pack's 55th year, she and two close friends convinced a large group of wolves to elope from the Monoplume pack. Sure that the lack of food was due to the leader's incompetence and that they could do better on their own, they were wrong.

Trudging through the snow to an undefined destination, an unforeseen snowstorm crashed down on them. Too stubborn to admit defeat she stayed and encouraged the others to do the same. She was the wise herbalist after all, who could know better? The weather getting more violent with each pawstep, wolves begin to panic. Some stumbled blindly off into the white nothingness, the voices of their comrades drowned out by the raging wind pinning their ears.
After what felt like hours of this a small group decided to head back for help. StarCatcher, Lulamoon and Shallow Waters arrived back in camp, shaking and panicked, a rescue mission was launched immediately.

Best efforts were put into finding the missing wolves 21 of the 34 that left were found, huddled up in a tiny, hastily scraped den chipped into the frozen earth. The remaining wolves all assumed lost.
After the storm blew over one final attempt was made to find them, The frozen bodies of Cherry Berry and Nova Sky were eventually dug out of a snow drift, but the rest were never seen again.

Spiderbite's trust from her pack is gone, but she's far more upset by the silence. Herbalists of the past often speak to current healers to guide them, but Spider's mind has been as deathly quiet as the snow they were nearly buried under, there's also been a noticeable lack of butterflies this Spring.
