Biography
Before the clan of many Stars even existed, Zinnia lived in the deciduous forests. Her old pack had always been run by a descendant of the great wolf who started it. It was said that he commanded the power of the forest and led the group of starving wolves that would later become their pack to the place that they lived. All of his descendants gained his power, so they had traditionally led the pack. At the time Zinnia lived in it, he pack was run by an old wolf named Talon, Zinnia's grandfather. This made them both descendants of the great wolf. However, the pack had begun to die off because of a mysterious sickness that had swept across the land, and there had been wolf hunters spotted in the area as well. Both of Zinnia's parents had died from the sickness, as well as all of her siblings accept her youngest brother, who was only a pup. Because of this, Zinnia was the only heir that was old enough to take her grandfathers position. Though she had never wanted to lead her pack, she knew it was the best thing for her pack-mates, so she was ready to take on the job when she needed to.
Then, one day something happened that none of them had expected. The wolf hunters that they had ignored because they were so busy dealing with the sickness had pinpointed their camp and attacked. The sound of gunshots could be heard as the wolves ran. Zinnia ran as fast as she could, while trying to watch out for her pack-mates, but there was nothing she could do. Over half of the remaining members of her pack had fallen, including Zinnia's grandfather. Zinnia was overwhelmed with grief, but she continued to run. Once the hunters seemed to be out of sight, Zinnia and her pack regrouped. Everyone agreed that they had to leave the deciduous forests. Hopefully they could leave the sickness and hunters behind as well. They would appoint Zinnia as their new leader and escape. The idea of being leader made Zinnia's mind whirl. She hadn't ever wanted to lead them but it was her duty all the same. Just as the she had begun to come to terms with this and her pack had begun to leave, the hunters had caught up to them. Zinnia was terrified; she knew she couldn't let any more of her people get hurt. A gun shot rang out, heading straight towards Zinnia's little brother who was only an adolescent. Zinnia sprang into action before she even had time to think, and she used her gift to make a nearby tree branch grow in the way of the bullet. Her pack members began to run as the hunters stared at the branch in shock. Suddenly, Zinnia got an idea. She had to protect her people. She had to make a sacrifice. She glanced back at the wolves as they ran and a look of knowing passed between them. Her brother began to sob, trying and failing to compose himself. Tears began to stream down the faces of her pack-mates, but they held fast and kept running, leading her brother away all the while. They looked at her for the last time as they scrambled into the distance.
Zinnia's eyes were wet as she looked upon the hunters in fury. They had taken her home, taken her friends, taken her family. They would take no more. She leapt into the air with howl of pure rage and shot down onto her targets. The hunters tried to shoot at her but branches grew in the way of the bullets. Vines wrapped around their feet and thorns jabbed into their skin. The hunters turned and ran wide eyed, ran with all of their might away from Zinnia. Zinnia began to chase them. She chased them until the sun set and a heavy rain had begun to fall. Those hunters were never seen again in the forest.
Zinnia panted as she tried to wrap her head around what just happened. Her pack would be long gone by now, and the rain would cover up their scents. If they had even survived there was no way Zinnia would ever them. She sat down and hung her head in grief.
The next few moths were lonely and lifeless. Zinnia had constructed a memorial shrine for her fallen pack-mates, and had wondered through the woods. It hurt too much to stay at her old camp, so she traveled to the other side of the forest. There, she ran into Ash, a beautiful white wolf from far away lands that had recently stared a pack in the forest. They talked for hours, Ash told Zinnia about her journey and the beginning of her pack, while Zinnia spoke of the downfall of hers. Ash was horrified by what Zinnia had to endure and fascinated by her gift. Since her pack was just starting up and was in need of more members, Ash asked Zinnia if she would be interested in joining. Zinnia thought about it. She still missed her pack and it felt wrong to have anyone but them living in the deciduous forests. However, she figured that the best way to deal with her grief would be to help start a new pack, and help them thrive in the ways that her old could not. She had also taken a liking to Ash and her beauty and strength. She figured she could be a great help to her new friend since she knew the land better then anyone else. Eventually, she had made her decision. She told Ash that she would love to join, and so she did.
Zinnia has always wanted to be a mother, and now that she was comfortable in her new pack, she tried for pups multiple times. However, none of her attempts had succeeded and she had never been able to have any offspring.
