Biography
˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ Morningdew is the 7th leader of the Starless Meadow pack, then called the WanderingStar Pack. Breaking tradition, she wasn't born to the last leader, Snakebite. Instead, she is Houndtooth's — Snakebite's brother — daughter. This, of course, was kept a secret from her. Snakebite and Vultureclaw raised her as if she was their biological pup.
After so many failed attempts, Snakebite was old and desperate. She had to find a heir quickly. Due to the Old Laws, the heir to the throne must be direct kin to the leader, but since Snakebite's past litters failed to thrive and her only surving bio daughter was a huntress, she had to find a loophole.
She made a deal with her younger brother, Houndtooth, who was Wormwood's son from a different litter. His bloodline would continue on, and his child would rule the pack, but he had to keep it a secret, and distance himself from the puppy. Houndtooth, wanting to help his sister, accepted. Morningpup was born not long after.
Because of this, Morningdew had to grow up quickly. Her parents put a lot of pressure on her. She went through rigorous training, and was forced to use an aging crystal only a month into her apprenticeship. She was made a scout immediately after.
During all of this, Snakebite's health rapidly deteriorated, and she died before Morningdew was 2 years old.
Early in her rule, she decided the pack needed to change. She felt the Old Laws only kept her wolves from reaching their full potential. She decided to put up a vote, and the majority of the pack agreed to move to somewhere better, though there was push back from the older generations. They left the forest, and settled in the nearby grasslands, taking the new name Starless Meadows as a way to move on from the past. Still, the Old Laws continue to cling to their pelts like fleas, and she must find a way to destroy them, piece by piece.
