While wandering aimlessly though the pitch black swamp, you try to blink away the tears that blurry your vision. The foul mud clings to your pelt, and your legs burn. You've been walking for ages. The sun never comes and the moon is seemingly blocked by the trees. Was there even a moon to begin with?
You have no idea what you could've done to deserve this. Your mind is a haze. You don't know how you got here, you don't even remember waking up here, all you recall is walking, walking forever.
Suddenly, you hear a sound coming from above, in the trees. You look up, but it's too dark to see anything.
Until it isn't.
A light appears, two glowing horns to be exact. Horns on the head of a creature so disgusting it hurts to look at.
The creature giggled, it's voice high-pitched and raspy. It had a pair of googly eyes and thin fur as black as the night, that somehow managed to highlight all of the thing's bones, almost piercing the skin.
"Oh! You found me!" It yelled. "Finally! I thought you were never going to see me! Tell me, wolf, what are you doing here?"
You try to speak, but your voice gets stuck in your throat. Is it fear?
"C'mon, don't be scared. It's not like I could make it any worse for you. You're not going to lose anything, you're already done for." The creature stares at you from a tree branch directly above your head. You can see it's claws more clearly now. The thing looks humanoid, somewhat.
"Alright, let me help you. I'm gonna introduce myself and then you do the same, m'kay? It's easy," The thing smiles at you, it's teeth sharp and yellowed. "Call me Imp, 'cause it's what I am. I like sweets and kittens and drawing and watching you cowardly souls suffer. I'm one of Lord Lucifer's most embarrassing failures and I'm stationed under Lord Rosier currently. What about you?"
You stay silent. It's hard to process everything. Is this your personal hell? The muck feels hot on your body. Your ears ring slightly. You've run out of tears at this point. It's all so confusing, what have you even done?
Imp growls at you. "You're boring. Come find me when you're ready to answer. Or don't. I was considering making this easier for you 'cause you're such a fragile little thing but I guess not. Blah." The creature hops off, from branch to branch, until it's gone.
You're alone again.
