Bryony was born to Laibhe and Fawkes during a month-long cryptid phenomena; Laibhe had constant nightmares throughout her pregnancy that the anomalies were affecting her unborn pup and was constantly consulting her trusted Faelci guards for help as well as her mate and herbalist.

Bryony was born at midday after a long and difficult labor, the newly made-herbalist Glaciana didn't even believe that the pup would last the day...

Fawkes (following in the pawsteps of Sunspot) prayed to the gods above and below for any guidance, avoiding the unhelpful comments of the Fae that watched over his beloved. Finally, attracted by the despondent howls from the pack, a young cryptid came. Hesitantly, they were allowed to nudge at the newborn and mumble a blessing. Through some miracle, Bryony started to breathe regularly and her heartbeat sounded strong.

The cryptid smiled and curled around the little wolf, murmuring to the grateful parents and all-knowing Faelci that this sweet heir to the leadership was their charge and they would protect her with all their strength. Having had no name for eons, the cactus cat was given the name 'Joy' for the hope and happiness she'd installed in the new parents.

Bryony got her scar from an attack by a lunar bison.
