Lupo

Lupo is a tan wolf with striking grey stripes and deep, cool grey eyes. He was brought into the Phoenix Tribe on September 25, 2024. He is currently a scout for the Phoenix Tribe.

Formerly named 588, Mercy renamed him to Lupo. Apparently it was a sound he had heard from humans by their trails, which he was reminded of when seeing the manmade earring pierced through Lupo's left ear. Lupo was best friends with Apricot and Spark and often sought their company, even when they weren't paying him any attention. He was often spotted lounging under the big oak or waiting for an invitational bark in his direction. He would occasionally play with Sister as well. He enjoyed grooming through her fur for ticks.

Lupo was somewhat infamous for his squeaky, grating voice as a pup, which subjected him to a bit of gripe from the more stuck up wolves. Hell did that change once he became an underpaw! The voice cracks were bordering ridiculous and only toned down once he hit yearling age. He learned to hold his tongue and is nervous to speak his mind because of the complaints he got about his voice. It's ironic that his voice became quite smooth and relaxing in age, which only his closer friends get the pleasure of hearing.

Lupo's Night of First Hunt was with Haven and went without anything of note.

Despite spending his underpawship studying Haven, he wasn't quite sure what he was doing as a stalker. With much innate potential as a hunter, he was too scatterbrained to keep his focus on one prey. For his half month before forming a hunting party, he took over for Rusty as a scout. He quickly proved himself to be a skilled scout, with his mind sponging information about new lands and discovering areas swifter.

Cedar also left quickly after his arrival to fill as a hunter with her first litter, leaving Lupo alone with Twig in Split Sap. What a nice place! It was stocked from head to tail with everything the pack owned, he felt privileged to be its guard while he was off scouting. He took Rusty's nest, which was a pile of pelts near the cave's mouth. He tried to be friendly to Twig, who seemed to make every excuse to stay in the back of the cave with the items. He had known the wolf was a bit of a loner, but jeez...

After a year and a half of scouting, Lupo was reassigned by Rusty to become the stalker of a new hunting party.

Lupo had a bit of a falling out with Apricot. Not that they weren't still friends, but he had been especially close to Apricot and spent every waking moment together for a few months, and then that just... went away. They had even been intimate together, with Apricot promising to be his mate, and then he returned with his tail between his legs to his littermate Vision. Lupo had known Apricot his whole life, he wasn't upset or angry. He was just heartbroken.

He said there was no bad blood, and they returned to being close friends, but it wasn't the same depth that Lupo had wanted.

Changing to be the chaser for Silver Sun was a welcome distraction, since he missed Apricot very much and exploring the forest made him think of their old trinket hunts. He had no idea what he was doing and stumbled over himself many too many times. Luckily, Copper hadn't been in a hunting party for months and Crumb had just become a yearling, so they were all in the same boat as him.

He ended up getting along well with Crumb, and becoming friends with him was helping heal his heart. Crumb was quickly becoming his second closest friend next to Apricot himself, and Crumb even invited Lupo to his den on rainy days when the Sunbath clearing would get muddy. He still wasn't Apricot, though...

He spent the year after the great flood being crumb's mate, but it stopped working once crumb started losing himself in his work, so once he hit 6 years of age he retired and returned to the elders alders to live out his years in relaxation - as best he could. He started a project of mapping the forest with Cel, who also retired!
