The final lord, the Black Lord, Wearer of the Anguished Mask, looked at me with scrutiny, the mask contorting with the D Class's features exactly like a mask shouldn't.
"So," it purred, "You've been to Alagadda. You've seen all of the festivities and darling people?"
I did not answer, partially because I was only tasked with listening and partially because I couldn't bring myself to recount those horrors any more than necessary.
He waited a moment, obviously getting bored before continuing. "You'll have to take me with you next time. I do so dreadfully miss my home."
It was now that I responded. "You were banished. You couldn't get back home even if you tried."
It's face grew sour and I could see the D Class's hand twitch in pain as his face was being contorted. "You've no need to remind me, girl. I know full well the extent of my banishment."
I simply nodded and stood, knocking on the door of the containment chamber before being escorted out by armed guards who moved to remove the mask from the D Class after me.
"I'll find you little girl!" I hear the mask shout behind me. "I'll find you and we shall play a game in the place that knows only darkness, and it will consume you!"
I left the cryptic threat behind me, determined to put Alagadda and everything connecting far far far behind me.
