Alagadda
THE CITY OF ALAGADDA
Where aphotic sea does deny,
Reflections of a xanthous sky.
And black stars reign without ascent.
Echoes of what was never meant;
A city built in unknown times,
Upon the bones of countless crimes.
Stranger yet is found within,
The chaos court of strife and sin.
The mad dance here without control,
As all must play their given role.
For those beyond our mortal ken,
We die and live, and die again.
Our Lord does writhe atop his throne,
Before his glory, we atone,
With this our blood, it is the Hanged King's.

The Hanged King
This area of the cave was larger, it's ceiling twelve feet above any wolf's head. Despite this, it felt as if you were being squeezed on all sides; you felt trapped. The wolves with dead white eyes that had brought you here now stood the way you'd come, ensuring you knew you had no way out. Truly, it didn't matter if you had any notion of leaving, you were too busy focusing on the dark and unholy thing that sat on a low rock directly in front of you. It was a wolf, or had been at one point, and you could see things almost like vines wrapped around it's scar riddled fur. When you really focused on it the tethers seem to be moving and your eyes quickly spotted the bats crawling around his body and yanking his bonds ever tighter.
It said nothing, simply looking on with nothing to show it was even alive. Your silence didn't deter bats above you, however, flying from their roost to exit the cave just in time for the sundown frenzy. This exposed a hole in the cave's ceiling, letting in just enough light to give you a view of this things face. The only thing you could think of to describe this being's existence was a god shaped hole. This thing, this king, struck a primal fear in you so deep you inherently stepped back, his dead eyes driving into your terrified living ones.
You could see the spikes now, impaling this king's body and holding him in place upon his throne of misery. This wolf had done something terrible. It all made sense now; the dead eyed wolves, the quickly wilting landscape outside, the dead birds and fleeing insects. It all made sense. This thing had bargained not only his soul, but the souls of everything around him, and this was the price, you just happened to be unlucky enough to find yourself in his domain...
