Tonight, as he moved silently into a rival pack's land, he blended effortlessly into the shadows, knowing well how to avoid patrols. He had no desire to challenge any wolf here. To him, this was a game—a quiet defiance, a thrill, and perhaps, if he were lucky, a chance encounter.

At the edge of the pack's territory, Casanova caught sight of a female wolf resting near a half-frozen stream, her coat silvered by moonlight. She glanced up, and her ears flicked as she spotted him. Casanova approached with careful confidence, his eyes flicking to hers with a glint of charm.

"What brings a lone wolf so far from nowhere?" she asked softly, her curiosity piqued.

His behavior defies the expected caution and solitary nature of most lone wolves, as he regularly seeks out temporary mates within rival packs. Remarkably, once he has fulfilled his intentions, he departs, rarely forming lasting bonds or contributing to the rearing of his offspring.

In typical wolf packs, a strong pair bond often forms between the alpha male and his mate, and lone wolves usually operate on the outskirts, avoiding conflict and competition. However, 302M demonstrates a divergent approach to mating. He seeks opportunities across multiple pack territories, avoiding dominance challenges and focusing solely on encounters with receptive females. Notably, these engagements are brief and lack long-term commitments, as 302M disappears once mating has occurred

Multiple instances have documented those females initially mated with their new pairings, but the physical traits of their litters suggest otherwise. Pups born to females 162F, 924F, 743F, 618F, and more bear an uncanny resemblance to Wolf 302M, characterized by distinctive coat patterns, build, and markings similar to his own. This suggests that 302M has successfully fathered multiple litters within rival packs and pairs, leaving a lasting genetic legacy without remaining involved.

It didn't take long before he spotted her, sleek and striking in the moonlight, moving through the fall-colored forest. He trotted into her path, dipping his head with a charming smile. Siona's gaze fell on him, suspicious yet intrigued.

"And you are…?" she asked, her tone as crisp as the autumn air.

"Just a visitor," he replied with a sly grin. "A passing admirer, if you will."

Siona huffed, though a glimmer of amusement sparked in her eyes. "The mighty rogue has come to court a pack wolf? How bold."

Casanova stepped closer, his eyes never leaving hers. "Only bold if it's unwanted."

The two shared a lingering look, the silence filled with unspoken words. One thing led to another, and before long, they spent the evening nestled together, away from prying eyes. But as dawn approached, Casanova, ever the free spirit, began to slip away.

He was halfway to the border when he heard a growl behind him. "Sneaking off so soon?" Siona's voice dripped with irritation.

He froze, turning to find her glaring at him, a pile of pinecones at her paws. Before he could offer an excuse, Siona launched the first one at him. It bounced off his shoulder, sending him stumbling in surprise. Then came another, landing squarely on his side. Casanova yelped with a slight chuckle, slinking for the trees.

"You could at least say goodbye!" she called, hurling another pinecone with impressive aim. It struck him hard on the head, making him wince.

"Alright, alright!" he called back, retreating with an embarrassed grin. "Goodbye!"

He dashed off into the shadows, glancing back to see Siona watching him with a smirk, pinecone in her jaws as if daring him to return. He trotted away, humbled and chuckling, knowing she'd remember him—but perhaps next time, he'd be a little more careful with his exits.
