Rinty is a showline German Shepherd Dog with piercing silver eyes. He was befriended in the Deciduous Forest on October 10, 2024, and is currently a scout and stud for the Phoenix Tribe.

Rinty acts like he's on guarana every second of his life, filled with boundless energy that often gets him into trouble. It's not uncommon to see him ears flat and tail tucked, shooting a guilty look to someone's broken something. He's easily wound up and paces the camp in his free time. He would be socializing or playing with other wolves, but his circadian rhythm as a GSD is different than his packmates, leading him to be the only one awake while the sun is out.
He tries to stay up and greet his packmates early in the evening, where he'll track down anyone he found a gift for during scouting and bestow it proudly. He really keeps an eye out for those because of how often he's breaking things.

Rinty was originally bred by humans in a puppy mill and sold to a family for companionship, but was dumped by his owners after he was deemed too high energy and difficult to train. He struggled to survive in the forest, only able to scavenge rotten meat his body wasn't used to, and was suffering from food poisoning when Mercy, the Tribe Leader, found him. He was brought back to Camp and treated by Twig, the Tribe's herbalist. Mercy took Rinty under his wing and taught him how to hunt, allowing him to stay in camp during the lessons.

Mercy felt a connection to Rinty, seeing a lot of himself from his own past with the humans. They grew close, and the two began sharing meals, which led to Rinty socializing with Mercy's family. Cedar, Mercy's mate, still felt estranged from her litter due to scouting in their puphood. She was delighted to spend more lively quality time with them and treat Rinty like one of her own. Fern and Willow, the pair's first litter, were less awkward around their parents when he was there. Fern loved asking him about living with humans—and what his favorite food was, what he would do if the world was ending, how he grooms his fur, if he'd rather poke a bear or sneak up on a wildcat... you get the idea. Willow, on the other paw, enjoyed barely shifting the objects in front of him around to see if he would notice.

Rinty felt like he had a family, something he had been robbed of early in his puphood. When it was time to set out on his own, having become a strong and reliable hunter, asked Mercy if he could stay at very last moment. Mercy, usually the distant type, licked Rinty's cheek and walked side by side with him back to camp. He has served as the pack's scout ever since.

Unlike his packmates, Rinty is most active during the day. He patrols and hunts while the wolves rest, which leads him to interact less but be known for his work during the daylight. He is closest to Mercy's family, but occasionally enjoys conversation with Vision and her littermates.

When Fern and Willow left the tribe, Rinty began sneaking out and visiting their camp while scouting. He was smart enough to mask his scent when coming back to Fallen Oak, but felt somewhat guilty he never took Cedar with him. He eventually built up the gall to offer once the hardest part of her grief was over, which she enthusiastically accepted. He tries to line up his scouting missions so she can join him.
