Serenade

Nov 4: They were orphaned at age 2.5 months, but fortunately quickly found by a kind couple. This pair introduced themselves as the Royal Couple of the Timbre Choir, and fed the starving pup some fresh elk. The pup was grateful, saying "I knew someone would find me! I just knew it would get better!" The couple were taken with the pup's enthusiasm, but seemed bothered by something.
"Young one," said Queen Opera, "we like you very much. And we would like to take you home to fill a very special role in our pack. But..." she drifted off.
"But you're a female," said King Composer.
Queen Opera continued, "Of course, we would still be happy to take you in as a future hunter-"
"Actually," the young pup interjected, "I don't really feel like a female. But not really like a male, either. Sort of a neither. I'm not really attached to the whole gender thing."
The Royal Couple excused themselves to discuss, and returned with a question.
King Composer asked, "Seeing that gender does not matter to you, we have a proposition. We are seeking the future king for our pack. You may not be a male, but we believe your optimism makes you a strong candidate to be a leader. However, there is a potion we would require you to take. It would not change your heart, but it would change your body. This is necessary, so you could continue the Royal bloodline."
Queen Opera added, "We still wish to offer you a home in our pack. This will give you some time to get to know our family, and allow you to decide when you're older if you would like to commit to this proposition."
"Are you kidding?" shouted the pup. "I've been looking for that potion! Of course I'll do it!"
Opera laughed, "calm down! Alright. I'd still like to give you some time to think it over, just to make sure you're certain."
The royal couple took the pup home, and named them Serenade.


Nov 6: Serenade smiles cheerfully at you and asks about your day. You happily share what's gone on so far and Serenade tells you they're certain the rest of your day will go great.

Nov 9: You confide in Serenade about some concerns that have been weighing on your mind. Serenade assures you all will be well with a comforting lick.

Nov 12: Serenade wags their tail and comes as close as they can before placing something in front of your paws. They say that they simply know it will make your day even better than it already is. (Duck Feather)

Nov 23: Serenade is an adult today, and has taken the role of a Scout.

Nov 23: Serenade changed their sex from female to male. Every time Opera asked, Serenade's answer was consistent. "Yes, I want the potion." Opera employed an abundance of caution. After all, this was the potential monarch, and Zeitoper's prospective partner. Now that Serenade is an adult, Queen Opera is ready to allow them to take the potion.

Dec 1: Got married to wife, Zeitoper. This pair of optimists believe in a bright future for their pack, and will be magnificent leaders someday as a strong pair.
