Biography
One is a . uh. she. she has fur and brown eyes. (She looked like this.)
Birth Biography
Snap's mother, Chaise, was a pregnant yearling who tried living in the riparian woodland with her mate Blacktail. They had been trying to start their own pack, but after a late autumn flood destroyed their den, they had no choice but to turn to the Phoenix Tribe for shelter. Mercy thankfully allowed them into Snake Roots, where Chaise and Blacktail hunted for the pack in exchange for their stay.
Blacktail was a charming but foolish wolf who desperately wanted to lead a pack with his mate. When not on hunts, he would scout the area for new territory to claim. He scouted alone once Chaise was close to giving birth.
Chaise was a wolf of few words, shy and not forthcoming with her opinions, and despite her anxiousness being left alone, was permissive about his risky explorations.
Phoenix's pupsitters, Hayden and D'arc, wanted Chaise to give birth in the nesting burrow. The stray pair refused. Blacktail wanted no connection to the tribe, and for his pups to be born in their own den.
Blacktail went out on an exploration after exploration, for longer and longer, until one day he did not return. Whether he abandoned Chaise or lost his life alone in the wilderness, no one knows, but it put Chaise under terrible stress. She went into labor prematurely, with no den and no mate. She snapped at Hayden and D'arc when they tried to transport her to the Nesting Burrow and struggled too hard for them to move her safely. They howled for help, with the Swift Claws being the only hunters in camp.
Ember, Twoface, and Polar all struggled to restrain her. Haven yelled at Chaise: "How dare you be selfish at a time like this!? Your pups will die! I'll kill you myself if you needlessly make your family suffer!" It was only Haven's words that shook Chaise up enough to get her nested in Moss Den with proper conditions.
After her birth, Chaise refused to eat, drink, or speak to anyone. The swift claws got dragged into the mess, hunting for her and commanding her to eat. It was a distressing time, especially for Hayden who was unused to this level of uncooperation. D'arc spent his time comforting his mate, which left Ember and Twoface to dish it out to Chaise while Polar and Haven looked down on her. In the privacy of their own den, Polar and Haven knew Chaise would not survive if she kept refusing food. The pups were scrawny and weak. They'd be surprised if they survived with her.
Sadly, they were right. Chaise passed overnight. Hayden had yet to see a dead wolf and was very unstable, which threw the usually reliable D'arc off kilter. Haven and Polar, of all wolves, stepped up to the plate. The pups were a bit young for soft foods, but they ate Haven's regurgitated food. Polar let the pups snuggle up to her, as unhappy she was about it. By nothing short of a miracle, all the pups survived to two and a half months. And now Polar and Haven had formed an intimate relationship with the puppies.
Puphood
Snap was originally named "Log" by Chaise, which was forgotten after her death. Polar and Haven referred to the pups as One, Two, Three, and Four, based on the number of stones around their necklaces. The names (and the necklace) ended up sticking.
One always seemed to be causing her moms trouble. But she loved her moms! She wanted them to love her, too, but she got scolded for just about everything she did. She couldn't win! So if you can't get love the easy way, get it the hard way. Push people around until they pay attention to you! That's why One became such a prankster.
She was by and far the most rowdy of the litter, mimicking Haven's snappy, aggressive language no matter what mood she's in. The rest of her littermates were so shy and quiet! They needed to stand out and be more fun! The grown ups kept comparing her to her father, who she had never known. She asked so many questions about him, thinking that he would have loved her so so much, way more than her family did now. He would have fixed everything!
But sadly, she had to fix it all herself, so that everybody thought about her like she wanted. She pushed the others around easily and turned stealing their toys or her begging for her Moms' attention into a game. She would happily annoy the adults, even if it got her scolded, since it made her Moms pay lots of attention to her!
She particularly loves to tease Four, who she sees as a little ridiculous. I mean, the way she acts is totally crazy! Even their moms say she's crazy! She finds it really funny how she reacts and likes to poke fun at her, kind of hoping she'll stop one day. She accidentally pushed her a little far and got a rock wedged in her foot once, which was kind of Four's fault for not eating enough and being sturdier, the skinny funny looking thing...
Once the pups became underpaws, they were supposed to study under their mothers. However, due to the arrival of the vile eyes' and Baked on Estrogen's litter, their parents were needed to pupsit. Instead, One and her siblings were mentored by Dawn Flashfire - Lux, Grouse, Jay, and Ember. Ember was the most experienced mentor of the three, although they all tried to pitch in raising the pups.
One got along very, very well with Grouse, who could practically finish her sentences. He jostled her around and they played pranks on the other wolves and paws. He wasn't afraid to use his full strength against her, and they'd often have scratches and messy fur from each other's tussles.
Lux took to teaching One "how to be presentable" and tried to groom her fur for her, pushing past her personal comfort zone to get the ticks and knots out. She scolded her the most when she tried to pick on her siblings, but did chuckle under her breath at One's pranks.
Jay spent a lot of time with One by proxy, and was the one who stayed most in contact with Polar and Haven about what their pups were up to in their day to day. One wasn't his favorite of the group and she knew it, but he was lenient with her because of his littermate's favoritism of her.
She loved it! She loved Dawn Flashfire and thought they were everything she should be, they loved her so much! She spent every second she could with them and thought somewhat poorly of her family, nitpicking what they did and getting sassy with her moms.
Once the vile litter - who had been
Befriends and best friends Raven, they end up being little bully besties. They do everything together, get piercings together (after testing it on Two of course).
Then raven tells her and she doesnt get it, goes around and tells everyone what she told her. Doesnt notice the difference in behavior until Raven snaps at her, she gets jaded and hurt about it and stops talking to her but feels bitter about why shes not her friend...
Adulthood
