Ciaran is a kind of canine the pack hadn't seen before. He's smaller than the others, despite being a male, and has way more energy than they would expect even an adolescent to have. Ciaran says it's because he's a "wolfsky," a mix between a wolf and a husky. Those exist? He told Pothos that he came from a house in the woods that was making many wolf-dogs just like him, but he was able to dig under the chain-link fence and run into the woods.
The story checks out, Ciaran came very malnourished and dirty, as if he didn't know how to live in the wild. Pothos accepted the challenge, and allowed Ciaran to join the pack and learn how to function in the wild. Now, when Pothos sees humans in the wild, he wonders if they were Ciaran's previous "owner."
He plans to be a chaser for the pack's hunting party, using his energy for good.
