Dante inherits the Shadow, a mysterious and mercurial role that leads him to wander for the most vague reasons and spurs him to unpredictable actions that are for the most part indecipherable even to his packmates. Dante's youth forces Adam to keep him under close watch, as the Shadow's meandering ways could easily lead a child into positions he isn't yet equipped to handle.
