Quicksand is the first wolf pup to be brought to the Omen Readers by another pack. As another wolf with the omen's gift, it was a first for those in the pack he came from. With no knowledge of the full extent of this gift or how to teach him how to use it, the Omen Readers made a deal with the pack to bring him in to their ranks. He still has the opportunity to go back to his old pack to check up on his friends and family, but his allegiance is now to the Omen Readers.

"Parents didn't want ya, huh kid?" Quicksand's ears flatten against his head when Amber walks up to him, her mouth curled up in a smile with her tongue lolling out the side.
"They didn' chase me out," Quicksand insists quietly. Amber lets out an amused huff as she sits down next to the pup.
"Then why are you here?" Amber asks, flopping over to her side to catch more of the sun in her fur. "Here for a visit? Here to check out the scenery?"
"They brought me here," Quicksand snaps. "They said it was for the best. So I could... learn."
"That's what they all say," Amber says. "Well? You enjoying it here?" Quicksand takes a moment to consider his answer.
"It's... alright? Everyone here is nice but..." he gulps. "It's not... it's not like home."
"What, you miss your family? Didn't Meadow give you permission to go and visit them whenever you like? Some of the wolves here would kill for that type of opportunity," Quicksand stiffens. Amber laughs. "Don't take it literally, kid. Figure of speech."
"I mean... yeah, I can, but... it's weird, you know? Going to see them and realizing I could never go back to them. Never- never go back home," Quicksand paws lightly at the dirt beneath him. "It sucks. It's nice seeing them, but it's just a real shit reminder."
"Woah, watch your language there pup. Blue could throw a fit if she heard you speaking like that," Amber teases. Quicksand's ear flicks.
"Not like she cares. She's fretting over Honey more than anyone. Worried that she'll feel left out since the only other two pups around her age have the gift. It's stupid," he mutters.
"You got a lotta hate inside that tiny body, huh kid?" Amber asks, raising her head slightly. Quicksand stays silent. "Well, I'm sorry to tell ya, but eventually you have to get used to staying here. It'll be hard, but this is your home now. And if what you said about your parents is true, then wouldn't that make them happy?" Quicksand's tail thumps once against the ground.
"...I guess..." he mumbles.
"Then stop fretting and lie down. Sun's good on your fur, you know," Amber says as she flops her head back down on the ground. Quicksand stares at her for a moment before hesitantly flopping to his side and closing his eyes. Amber snickers. "There you go, kid."
