Eirlys the Mothbringer

Perhaps this is what Selene had always had out for him, a fate where his family shriveled and died before him. He'd always told himself there was something more for him beyond Bear Claw, but he'd never taken the chance to go out and get it. He just sort of... lingered. Always threatening to leave, always hovering just outside of home's territory, but never actually going.

He was born here. Beneath Selene. His mother Ilona said that the moths had chosen him then. "Heskel the Mothborn" had been his title back at home. If he left home, would he still be the Mothborn? If he left home, would they even remember him?

Heskel had always wanted to be something. Like how Blayves had been something. Like how Quilli had been something. He wanted to be remembered, looked up to, have his name echoed throughout generations. But all the same, he wanted to leave the very place he wanted to have a legacy in.

And it seemed if he couldn't make his own choice to write his own story, then Selene would.
