Heavy Oak was born as an only daughter of two mid-ranking wolves in a pack far to the east. They had planned to raise her up into perhaps gaining a higher rank than them, but the pack had settled too close to humans and was scattered by various means - poisoning, poaching, and trapping. Heavy Oak was only around 8 months old when she realized she had to set out on her own. Not wanting the humans to follow her, she headed for the one area she thought would deter them: Pine Mountain.

She was the first other wolf, besides Tala, that Shattered Sycamore came across that didn't attempt to get into a fight with him. Although initially paired by Tala just to be the groundwork for a pack, the chemistry they had was impeccable, and it was natural that they would become mates.

As Queen of the pack, Heavy Oak does not hunt or scout, and she will only ever be a pupsitter to her own pups. Her days are filled fussing over her mate and children, and occasionally doling out orders to the lower-ranked wolves when Shattered Sycamore is too busy. She wants to keep very close to her pups, as she knows that Shattered Sycamore will not be the breeding male forever (he sees himself as average whereas other males might do a better job of breeding more beautiful wolves), and she doesn't know if she will want to have pups with anyone else.
