- Baak lost their mother shortly before adulthood.
- They are a withdrawn wolf, often mistaken for sullen.
- Trained their whole pup-hood to be a chaser like their uncle.
- Nervous habit of scratching at the ground.
- Ourkan loves Baak dearly. They remind him of his lost sisters.
- Hangs about with the pups when "off-duty".
- Wishes they didn't have to grow up, but is committed to doing their part as an adult.
In year 5 they met "Dog", a large sledding mutt that lives nearby. There are some communication issues, with Dog speaking only a little of a very garbled dialect of Common Wolf, so the two mostly rely on body language.
Baak enjoys teaching their new friend Wolf words, and learning his native tongue. Dog tells her that all mothers teach their pups the local variant of Northern Dogspeak, which is mostly for communication with humans.
Being friends with Dog reminds Baak of all the puppish things she likes, as he is very simple and free-spirited, loving play, food, and humour above all things. They often sneak into his human''s land to meet with him at night, and both canines quickly become very attached to one another.
Year 6
Baak has a litter with Dog. Some pups inherit Dog's brightly glossy coat and short stature, but most resemble their mother.
Since litters sired by non-pack members are semi-common, and Baak had already had an outsiders litter when she was young and naive, nobody questions who fathered their unusual children.
Unlike her first litter, this litter is born during a time of plenty, and thanks to Baak's role in the main hunting party, her relatives are far more accepting this time around.
