Chapter One of An Heirs Trial.
The pup stared in awe next to her brother, it was so loud here and there were so many wolves! "Woah.. I wonder what'll happen.." she whispered to the sepia pup. Her gaze twisted and turned, moving from one wolf to another. Her eyes opened wide upon seeing one wolf, large and surefooted. "LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THAT WOLF!" She gasped, quickly leaping away behind a metal object larger than herself, certain that the large, grey and brown sire had heard her.
Brother batted her on the nose. "Don't stare! It's rude." He growled. "I just hope no one wants us, then at least we'll get to stay with mother longer.." Brother grumbled. He had been acting up so much since the queen had chosen to trade them for resources, Sister only hoped he'd be nicer once they got adopted.
"Hey!" she yapped, lounging playfully at him and nipping him gently round the ear. "You need to stop being so negative, no one will have us if you keep saying things like that." she could see him rolling his eyes, but she did not react, it wasn't worth the effort.
"And no one will trade for you if you don't sit still and act mature." the pack trader warned, aggression lay behind the wolfs half smile. Sister shuffled to the traders side, she was small, nono, tiny in comparison, Like a speck of dust next to him.
Before the young ebony pup could speak, a large white and black dame stepped towards the three packmates, towering over the them all. "How much for the runts?" She barked, barely looking down at the two pups before paying the trader and gesturing for the two of them to follow. "Okay, I thought that sire was the largest wolf I'd ever seen.." Sister whispered to her brother, his blue eyes rolled again as he shoved his sister in the shoulder. "OW!" she yelped.
The large dame stopped, they were now miles away from the market and the two pups could only assume they were headed for their new pack. The dame glanced to the two of them, sending them an accusing look. "What are you two bickering about?" she growled, eyes narrowed, her nose only a moment away from touching Brothers. The two siblings just about murmured a "N-nothing-.." and they were off again.
"W-where are we going..?" Sister asked, trotting after her adoptive mother just to keep up. Brother glared at her, attempting to shush her with a weak bite, not enough to bring her any harm exactly, but as a warning.
"To my pack." The dame answered, twisting her head to send Brother a warning glare. "And your new home, Waving Winds Pack."
