Carme

She was slightly nervous, leaving behind everything she knew and moving into a new pack wasn't easy. The Pack Leader, Serapis, welcomed her, and explained the pack traditions, including taking her to their books of gods, from where she would choose a new name (if desired, Serapis wouldn't force her). She chose Carme.

After being given the rounds of the den, some of the pups approached her and asked her questions about her life before their pack. She agreed, and told the pups about life outside of their pack. Some of the other wolves approached her, and seeing how good she was with the pups, asked her to become a pupsitter. She agreed.

Before she could start her new duties, another wolf walked into the den, one welcomed warmly by Serapis. It was Loki, the distant eldest child of Serapis, and the latter called the former over to them. On his way over, however, Loki tripped on a tree branch, and Carme had to quickly turn away to hide her laugh. This caused Loki to freeze, and then turn and run, much to the exasperation of Serapis and amusement of Carme.

After Loki's eventual return, he and Carme spent a great deal of time together, and feelings soon developed. It didn't take long for them to form a pairbond.

The pups loved her, and she got on well with the other pupsitters. After looking at the organisation of the hunters, with Andraste and Tapio leading them, Carme decided the pupsitters needed similar organisation. With the go-ahead from Serapis, she became the leader of the pupsitters, helping organise pup distribution and cave maintenance.


Loki's immortality hit her hard. She had always thought of them growing old together, watching their pups grow, and then seeing them in the afterlife (something she hoped existed). But now Loki would have to watch them die, himself stuck on this side of death. Of course, the silver lining was that they would be able to communicate through Anubis. Still, the thought of never being able to see him again hurt.
