The first leader of the Forest Dew pack, Fennel is well known for always making sure his wolves are well taken care of and have a place to call home, even if only temporarily. He takes his work very seriously.
Fennel used to live in a very strict pack, where wolves deemed useless for the roles the leader created or for breeding were instantly chased off, and expectations for those who remained were high. One slip and you could face severe punishment. Being born in such atmosphere made Fennel responsible and task focused from a young age, though it came at the cost of friendships and moral decisions at times. One of the few wolves to stay with him was Coyote, his closest friend since puphood.
When he grew up into an adult, he was assigned to become a hunter for the pack and was placed together with his friend, Coyote, as well as other wolves. Unfortunately, his friend hadn't received much training and failed at almost every hunt, making the leader furious. Fennel tried to defend him and argue he just needed practice and guidance, but the yellow and brown wolf was chased off anyways. Enraged and noticing how truly bad this pack was for him, the red wolf resigned from his position and ran away, following Coyote. The two started wandering together through the territory, wondering what to do next.
Coyote and Fennel are mates and currently have one daughter, Howl, and two grandpups in the pack, Crow and Icicle. He's also the adoptive father of Moss.
Fennel lost part of his vision to a fight with a mountain lion, during one of his trips to the desert biome. It took him some time to adjust to it, but he seems to be doing just fine now.
He's bisexual, cis, and uses he/him pronouns.
