Mei is Crystal Cove's Beta. Initially, she was a low-ranking huntress in her old pack, but became frustrated with her capabilities being misjudged and left in order to pursue a path that really suited her. She found one in Crystal Cove, after helping Jet and Dusk in a nasty fight with an especially angry elk. She showed her capabilities and was warmly accepted into the pack, with the role of Beta being presented to her almost immediately.
She and Moon became mates after she saved him from drowning, though he did have a brief relationship with Dusk prior to falling for Mei.
