Biography
Founder of Rime Pack. She may initially appear cold and stern, but once you get to know her, you'll see she's a warm, honest, modest soul who is always putting the needs of her pack before her own. Despite being leader, Polar doesn't see herself as above her fellow wolves, just as one among them. Still, she recognizes her responsibility as leader, and encourages teamwork and cooperation among her members, as she sees potential in every one of them.
One night while she was trekking the mountains, Polar fell asleep. She found herself in a mysterious place called the Dreamlands. It caused her to slowly fall into a deep sleep, one which would have trapped her in the Dreamlands. However, with the help of the objects obtained in her dreams and the Lunar Essence they emit, Fjord and Bear were able to awaken Polar before the end of the period.
She is now officially mated with Bear, and expecting puppies. However, their excitement was interrupted when Thermal unlaunched a coupe to takeover Rime Pack. Polar and Bear were overwhelmed and forced to flee, and they were left wandering the taiga. During that time, she and Bear would work hard together to find food and lead the trail back to Rime's territory. But they soon encountered an elk bull, which was actually the passage form of Elk. This elk would lead them to back to their packmates, and united, they confronted Thermal and her gang. Polar fought Thermal alone, even while she was in labor. She was pushed off a cliff, and nearly died, only having the strength to birth her puppies. Thankfully, Elk's passage returned again, and he revived Polar so that she would survive and see her pups grow.
After returning the Dreamlands, thanks to the use of dream objects in the real world, Polar is able to travel safely through the realm. However, she begins to receive signs from the creatures that dwell there, the most notable ones being an encounter with a flaming ice wolf, a lush but unusually fierce timber wolf, and a warning from the old fox she'd encountered before, that that mentions she'll be forced to make a "grave decision, which shall melt away the fringes of Rime." Suddenly, she would lose access to the realm.
The old fox's warning turned out to be true, when Polar would decide to let Dawn raise her pups without a sitter. As a result, a rift formed between her and Misty, which struck Polar to the core. Then, as strange things began to happen with wolves disappearing, and meets with apprehensive strangers and odd caves, three of her children, North, Robin, and Cub, would go missing. She and Bear did everything to find them, but their was just no hope. If only they had paid more attention to their pups.
Months later, Polar would return to the Dreamlands, where she would face the flaming ice wolf, but now entirely of flame. In truth, this was the Wolf of Flame, the passage form of her former enemy, Thermal, who had barged her way into the Realm of Slumber. Through help of another wolf, who was completely made of frost, Polar defeated this passage, effectively saving the dreamlands from this intruder. But, ultimately, it was her son, North, she would end up saving from clutches of Lunar Essence. As he parted way from the dream, and his mother, he would leave her with a final plea to come find him in tundra, just as his eyes were turning blue, again. Now knowing the truth, Polar is faced with the choice to lead the pack where they're destined to be, and reunite with her children.
With searching and determination, Polar did find her children in the tundra and in the faraway woodlands. She promised North she would bring the pack to tundra, and supported his destiny to find the glacier. However, it would take Polar some time to convince her pack that the move was necessary, as some wolves, particularly Dawn and even Shale, were in disagreement over moving to harsh lands where they would struggle to find prey.
A struggle against poachers would leave a scar on the side of her neck as the result of cutting stray bullet. However, in her eyes, this scar marks her dedication towards protecting her pack.
North would finally return to Rime pack, having fully uncovered the glacier and found a permanent den for the pack reside in (along with a new batch of grandpups). Following this, Polar would be instructed with adopting a pup from each biome to join their pack, before they moved on to their land. As Polar herself would scout the glacier in order to track their den, she realized she was growing weak with age. Soon, her time as leader would be over. Bear had just retired, so she had made Steam her beta. However, Polar wonders if North would be the better choice for a leader, considering what he had accomplished. Little did she know that the choice had already been made for her, as the Sleepwalkers had sent their sign to North telling him that he would be next the leader of Rime.
An encounter with a seal pup would trigger a vague memory for Polar, but of what? As Polar track the glacier for the final time before their move, she would encounter Tala, the wolf who had helped to establish Rime pack. From Tala, Polar would have her childhood memories restored. She was born in the glacier as a pup, and had learned to hunt and scout all by herself. The glacier was not a new land to her, but her long lost home. And she was soon to return here.
