One of Alp and Shale's children. Bark is the troublemaker among his siblings, with his tendency to bully the other pups, particularly his brother Pine, and annoy and ignore his elders. However, Bark is also the one most keenly aware of his parents' quarrel. He doesn't like seeing them argue with each other or with Dawn, as it upsets him and leads him to feel that he's being ignored. This is possibly the reason why he tends to take his frustration out on others.
When his behavior was brought to his parents attention, they decided that Misty would takeover as his pupsitter while the other remained with Gravel. Though Bark was upset at first, he grew to adore Misty, especially when she encouraged him to open up about his feelings. Overtime, Bark's behavior would start to improve.
Now, he and Pine are hunters together, with Pine taking the lead as stalker. Bark still has his rude and stubborn tendencies, but has learned to cooperate and show respect for others, regardless of their role.
On their journey to the tundra, Bark lost his father, Alp. While they were hunting in the taiga, Bark chased the prey all the way to the top of a high cliff, and found himself hanging over the edge. Alp rushed into save him, but he lost his grip on Bark and the cliff, sending them both plunging. Bark managed to catch a hanging branch, but his father was not as fortunate. They would find his body in the gorge, and return it with them to the pack. The back would mourn the loss of their long-standing member, and Bark would blame himself. But both Polar and his family would reassure him that it was not his fault, and that his father risked his life only because he loved him. Still, it was a humbling and traumatizing experience for him, and he would rule in favor of Pine taking the lead over the recently formed Flakes (which Alp was leading before) instead of him.
However, tensions would arise between the brothers again, as he and Pine would end up fighting over the affections of Brook. A particularly nasty spat resulted in Brook choosing Pine over him, and the brothers becoming full on rivals. It was due to Bark essentially accusing Pine of causing their father's death due to his inaction, just to make his brother look bad in front of Brook. As such, Pine was deeply offended by his abusive words, and decided to cut himself off from his brother. Bark, likewise, would chose to avoid Pine out of spite for taking Brook.
