Maple

Maple is one of the oldest wolves in the pack at 5 1/2 years old. Her anxious nature seems to quiet a bit when she is caring for others, which is why she so often steps in to mentor puppies and adolescents. She's a talented and powerful wolf with the warmest of hearts, and you can sometimes find Phantom napping under her watchful maternal gaze. Perhaps shocking to some, she currently serves as a Finisher on hunts, delivering the killing blow to prey.

Maple has settled into her role in the pack, bonding closely with Cypress. The two are rarely seen apart, hunting together as stalker and finisher, training pups together, eating together, sleeping together...they're practically joined at the hip. Other pack members firmly believe the two of them will eventually retire and become mentors fully together! But for now, Maple is content to train adolescents in the art of finishing prey, and to train puppies in various skills they'll need to survive in the wild and support the pack. She does try to reach out to Phantom frequently, who clearly has a soft spot for her, and she is one of the few wolves who can get him to rest while she grooms him.

Maple is really getting up there in years, and is just waiting for the opportunity to step down from the hunting role to arise. Currently, there is no wolf to take her place, and she is determined to only step down when a newcomer can fill it. She spends her time hunting, resting alongside Cypress, and training pups. Her anxiety is soothed by the presence of those she loves, but it has been rough on her lately, seeing Phantom so distant and lost.

Now retired and serving as a Mentor, Maple is pregnant with her first litter of pups since joining the pack. She was determined to have children she could raise here, alongside her soulmate Cypress, so that they could grow up knowing what a loving pack this was. Word of her pregnancy seems to have spread to Phantom, who has been showing up more frequently to check on her. It brings her great joy that these lives she carries now are already healing the broken pack.

Maple, the anxious sweetheart we all know and love, is currently carrying what will likely be her first and last litter amongst this pack. She is truly aging gracefully, but her joints creak these days, and her fur is thinner than it once was. Her days are spent mentoring pups, educating adolescents, and relaxing with her dear companion Cypress. She is delighted to see Phantom back amongst the pack, and she often beckons him to her side for grooming sessions passed in companionable silence.
