Glød

In the vast, frozen north, a red-orange wolf named Glød prowled through the deep snow, his coat blazing like a flicker of fire against the stark white landscape. He was the pack's herbalist, a healer who knew the secrets of plants and roots that could mend wounds, ease pain, and even keep their hunger at bay when food was scarce.

Glød was young, but he had learned from the old herbalist, Willow, before she passed on the role to him. His unusual knowledge set him apart from the other wolves, who relied on him not only for healing but for finding the few plants and resources that survived the harsh winters. His vibrant coat, though striking, marked him as a wolf apart—one who spent hours scouring snow-laden clearings and frozen streams, searching for the last of the dried herbs hidden beneath the frost.

This winter had been especially harsh, and the pack was suffering. Food was scarce, and the youngest wolves were weakened by frostbite and hunger. One evening, Ember saw Skhare, their pairbond, struggling with a limp—a small injury that would worsen quickly if untreated in the freezing cold. So, Glød ventured into the wild to search for herbs that might ease Skhare's pain and protect the rest of the pack from injuries such as this.
