Dust's life was pretty rocky at first. She was unwanted by her family because of her markings and "lousy" colours. She was told all her puphood that she was ugly and didn't deserve to remain in the pack she had previously lived in. One morning, Dust was awakened by a strange wolf saying she was to be taken away to somewhere someone wanted him.
She did not expect it to be the Trading Center. However she was snatched up quickly by a kind wolf named Kho. She was taken to a mother who had just given birth to some babies and was eventually weaned from her. She considered this wolf, Soot, to be her real mother. She soon forgot about her old home and thought of the other pups as his true siblings.
