Rune can recall almost every waking moment, from since she was a pup.
From the first moment she cuddled her siblings, to opening her eyes, to her first sick coughed up bark.
Born to a sickly mother, and runt of her litter, there wasn't much expected from her.
However, she fought for her place among her small family pack, and was one of the two surviving pups in the litter.
Weaned early, her and her surviving brother were taught to hunt and fend for themselves at an early age, hardly past a month old. At three and a half months, her ill mother died. Their father was absent, so for the the time, Rune and her brother just had each other. At some point, the two pups had a fight, and Rune was abandoned completely.
That's when he arrived.. Luna. He had a peculiar, almost feminine name, and was a couple moons/months older, but Rune didn't mind. Maybe they were fated to meet, their destinies entwined within each other. Rune was the considerate one, appreciating life around her, since fate laid within it's grasp, while Luna gave it an acknowledging nod and continued on. He was the clever one, and had a way with words, which saved their tails one too many times when they'd run into the wrong wolves.
When Rune was two years, and Luna nearing two and a half, they made it their goal to make sure no pups would struggle and live like they did. The pair would travel constantly, from pack to pack, staying no more then a few moons. Within the time periods they visited, Rune could always be found with the pups or elders. She was gifted with the younger members of the pack, and made sure each was noticed and appreciated. Without hesitation she'd step up for the tasks with the elders, making sure they were happy, even in final moments.
Luna would tell stories to younger packmates, especially pups, whenever he was free, or Rune was busy. When he wasn't spinning tales, he'd be seen with the healer of the pack. He was smart, and creative with herbs and the art of healing, lending his aid to any sick or injured. Any other time, he'd be talking with regular wolves, trading knowledge and tips.
It was without mention that Rune and Luna were respected. Despite being left behind and dropped hopelessly in the woods, only having each other, they never turned on others. So when news went around of the pairs death, several wolves were distraught.
