Beetle had been the runt of the litter. His brothers and sisters tormented him when they were pups right under his mother's nose. One day, they were out by a gorge, and Beetle's eldest sister Demi, who had always been the leader of such torments, picked Beetle up and held him by the scruff over the gorge. It was now that Beetle's mother finally noticed Beetle being bullied. She barked loudly at her pups, startling them all, including Demi who lost her footing and fell 100 feet into the gorge with Beetle still in her jaws. Beetle woke up to find himself washed up in the mountains by the river that had carried him there— miles from his original home in the woods. Demi was nowhere to be seen. Ever since then, Beetle has been an aggressive wolf that fights for himself in order to never let what happened as pups happen to him again. Beetle met Kingpin in a scuffle that ended up in a friendship between the two that lasted a long time. However, it sadly ended when Kingpin realized Beetle brought nothing to the pack and after a drawn out argument, Beetle was banished.
