Nimue

Nimue had always been a little... different, a little scatterbrained. Some called her touched in the head, whatever that meant. Whether it had been genetic or the chance of a hard birth, her mind would never work the way the rest of her pack would.
She'd always loved puppies and made sure to tell her Papa that.
"Any male would be proud to have you as his mate," he'd told her growing up. But the others disagreed and continuously made fun of the slow minded pup.
"Nobody will want pups with you, are you crazy? You couldn't even take care of pups."
Her father, Sabre, was her idol. He was everything she'd wanted in a mate of her own, strong, kind, handsome, able and willing to provide in all aspects for his pack.

Aiyomi struggled with the birth of this third pup. She was born backwards, her back feet coming first, and, try as he might, Sabre could do nothing but wait as his first daughter made her way into the world. She was in the sac for far too long. Both parents feared for their pup as they sent a prayer to the Goddess, 'Please, don't take our little girl.'

It seemed like an eternity before the tiny pup took her first breath, which was met by a sob as her parents licked all over to stimulate her to take another breath. Aiyomi silently prayed that lack of air would cause no repercussions to their precious baby girl who so resembled her mother.

"Nimue," Aiyomi said after everything had calmed and the pup had begun to nurse. "She is Nimue." Sabre nodded his agreement.

"May she grow as beautiful and amazing as her mother."

And so, this pup was named.
